as you may all know already, the ECHO's sales in america has virtually disapperaed thus it was no surprise the car was dropped from the US lineup. people thought since there's toyota's successful Scion line, the echo (and for that matter the dead Celica will not be replaced (scion tC=celica, scion xA=ECHO). the celica will remain dead, but it appears like toyota USA will replace the ECHO with the Yaris to be offered in 3 variants:H/B,S and D (hatchback, sedan but what's the D?). on sale across the 50 states on march 2006:

launched in Japan last year. Looks realy good. I just wonder if they will still have a 4dr version.
Hi Mojo, even if Toyota owns Daihatsu, Toyota didnt rebadged the Echo/Yaris as Daihatsu.
