[SIZE=2]Gud day Guru's!Just want to share my experience and ask advice na din sa inyo.I had an overhaul lately of a 2e corolla 91 engine.Plan was to make a Top overhaul lang kasi busted na ang HG.I was running out of coolant, tumataas ang temp ng 3/4,and white smoke coming out of the tailpipe.When engine was dissassembled,discovered may alog na mga pistons.It was already oversized at .75mm kaya pati mga piston rings sinama na sa overhaul.thus the reason kung bakit napunta na sa general overhaul.I asked my mech.kung pwede pa yung cylinder head,told me kaya pa tumagal,though sa pag examine ko kinakain na ng minerals yun aluminum.mekanik told me ok pa raw yun block,sa tingin ko mukha okei pa no cracks sa walls on the block etc.but he never recommended any machine shop,maybe because manipis na yun Head,everything was put back,break in at idle ok,went on a drive ok,pero didnt last long because pumalya ang mga sparkplugs.checked it up again at basa sila ng oil.mekanik changed the plugs from stock to platinum and drove it,checked again voila...tuyo, normal ang burn.he told me na mahina mga plugs ko.unfortunately,may blow-by pa din kahit before the overhaul meron sya.ang natanggal lang after the overhaul is the 3/4 high temp. and the loosing ng coolant.I checked the dipstick and it was spewing smoke.I'm at loss already,just spent a considerable amount para lang mapatakbo ng maayos pero eto na naman."mawawala,bumabalik mga problema".Will I opt for a new engine na or kaya pang ma-save yun stock na engine ko?any advise?I doubt my mekanik na kahit matagal na namin kilala sya.Pasensya na sa nobela mga kaibigan at more power to our forum!

*desert fox, surplus engine? siguro na nga.It may be wise to just opt for that than saving the stock pa.Will you have any idea sir how much kaya yun?I won't be choosing an upgrade.I just want a car na could get me from poit A to point B.Thanks
Talaga siguro ganito pag first car.Dami problema kapag second hand.Sabagay I've come into terms na madami talaga pagawain kasi 91 model pa ito.pero talagang asar kapag sunod sunod bumibigay,wala ka manlang panahon i-enjoy :-)

Either 4AFE ( 1.6L EFi ) or 4EFE ( 1.3L EFi ) brader. Yung 4EFE, same HP output ng 2E pero syempre mas malakas since EFi na while yung 4AFE is yung OEM ng Corolla GLi
If blacktop costs 28k, those said engines should cost you lesser. Siguro engine swap ng ganyan would just set you back at around 40k.

Pero mga Guru's, pwede ko pa kaya sya gamitin as in dito sito lang pag mag grocery etc.? Medyo takot kasi ako na mapundi uli yun mga spark plugs eh.BTW, when I gave the wheel to my mekanik nun tinest na namin (this was after he changed the plugs to platinum) naku parang karerista ang driving, high rev etc.sinadya nyang itaas ang menor.Is this the reason kung bakit yung mga platinum plugs stayed dry?at kahit yun mismong oil nasusunog nya?tnx
What does he mean when he says platinum?mas malakas ba spark nun compared sa stock?Pardon my ignorance thanks

yung platinum tip ng sparkplugs e mas matibay yun at it will last looooonger than the normal tips sa market.....yun lang ang pagkaka-alam ko jan....
pwede pa naman siguro yung makina ng kotse mo kung di naman long drive...
Choice I would have made as well.:nod:
