July 13th, 2010 09:55 PM #1ano po ba dapat talaga, city driving, on o off ang overdrive? kasi by default naka-ON sya, tipid ba sa gas yun o mas malakas sa gas yun pag overdrive on sa city driving? norbal ba sa altis 1.6 a/t ang 7.5kilometers lang per liter city driving? overdrive always on po yan.

Depends on the route. But in traffic, yes.
No need to turn OD off unless you want to overtake. You can fiddle with the ECT switch (if your car is a later generation Corolla with the ECT) to see if it gives you better economy, but in ECON mode, it's kinda sluggish.

Keep OD on.
Pag mabilis na tapos gusto mong mag down shift from 4th to 3rd, you can turn OD off.
If you need acceleration. Turn On ECT. else keep it off.
Pag naka ON ang ECT, at a higher RPM mag shift up ang transmission. higher revs = more power but more fuel used.
