^ I thought the ABS will be felt if you pressed hard the brake and not when lifting it....

It's just the sound of the brake pads rubbing against the disc. Since di sya full pressed may onting play and vibration when the car moves a bit. Nothing to worry about.

Does this applies to all 1.3 Vios or latest models lang?

Kung bago pa yan gaganda pa fuel economy pag tumagal. Tapos consider mo rin yung gas na gamit mo may ethanol, lalakas sa gas. Plus if you are a newer driver baka mag improve pa driving skills.

Some fuel saving tips from Shell:

    Tyres

    Tyre pressure
If your tyres are under inflated by just 1psi, fuel efficiency can be reduced by up to 3%. So check tyres once a week or whenever you fill up.
    Fuel tank

    Check fuel cap
Simply make sure your cap is properly screwed on after every fill up. This prevents fuel, and effectively your money, from evaporating.

    Drive smoothly
Don’t drive aggressively – you’ll burn up to a third more fuel than driving smoothly. Try not to brake or accelerate too hard and keep your steering as even as possible.

    Avoid excess weight
For every extra 100 lbs (45kg) you carry in your car, your fuel efficiency can drop by 1-2%.
    Plan your trips

Combining trips – like popping to the shops and family taxi duty – is the easiest way to conserve fuel.

All fuels are not the same
When combined with the Shell FuelSave Tips, Shell fuels with Fuel Economy Formula (such as Shell FuelSave) can help you reduce your consumption and fuel costs by helping you get the most out of every drop of fuel.

    Check air filters
Car engines are tough but they still need protection from impurities to work efficiently. Replacing a clogged air filter can improve fuel economy by up to 10%.

    Avoid rush hour
It’s probably the most frustrating time to drive but avoiding rush hour also means you’ll spend less time stuck in traffic, burning fuel.

    Gear stick

    Use higher gears
Driving slowly in a higher gear burns less fuel. It’s best to change up a gear whenever you can.

    Avoid high speeds
The faster you go, the more wind resistance you encounter. This forces your car to consume more fuel just to maintain speed. As little as 5mph (12kmph) can affect fuel economy by up to 23%.

    Maintain speed
When you hit a downward slope, maintain steady engine revs. You’ll still have good momentum if you’ve then got a hill to climb.

    Engine

    Avoid excess idling
Idling gets you nowhere, but still burns fuel. If you’re in a queue for around 10 seconds, turn your engine off until you need it.

    Service your engine
A dirty engine increases fuel consumption. Start by changing worn out spark plugs and reduce consumption by up to 5%.

    Avoid over-revving
Sending your rev counter into the red isn’t good. So change gear in good time when you pull away or when accelerating.

    Use correct oil
Using your car manufacturers recommended motor oil can improve fuel economy by 1-2%. Using higher quality lubricant and Shell FuelSave also helps.
    Windows

    Keep windows closed
Driving with your window open slows you down. This usually makes you put your foot down harder, using more fuel.
    Passenger Seat

    Keep hydrated
Drinking water and ensuring you’re well hydrated helps you concentrate better. When you’re focused, you tend to drive more efficiently.

it took me over 10K km to break in my 1997 sentra's engine.. then, fuel consumption improved from 6 km/li, to 9-10 km/li.. i hope this is something the new vios will prove to do, too..

Mine's a 1.3E A/T, close to 7K mileage, and it's consistently having an FC of ~13 km/Li. Daily route ko ay 70% expressway, 30% city driving. Kung meron by batch tendency yung bad FC Vios', mine was acquired mid July last year. So far proud and very satisfied owner. My driving manners tends to be on the light footed group (I "squeeze" the accelerator and don't pump it, even from full stop unless I needed a downshift for overtaking).

Yung warming sa area ng hand break, this was hilited by some of the reviews, at parang namention din ni Niky sa review nya. The way Toyota routed the exhaust pipe ang nag ko cause ng warming.

i think the reason why a lot of us are saying malakas sa gas yung bagong vios is becuase of how the fuel gauge ia designed.
yung sa gen3 ko umilaw yung low fuel indicator then i got 300 pesos worth of gas. ayun tumaas to half yung tank. parang di calibrated... or sadyang guestimate talaga siya.

btw my fc improved already to 11.2km/li. (full tank method)

TMP confirms that gen3 is not as fuel efficient as the gen2

take a look at the history

    gen 1 -->> gen 2 + 100kg
    gen 2 -->> gen 3 + 40Kg and a bigger windshield (wind resistance)

TMP recommends proper break-in and the use of gas with a kabibe or with a butuin to improve FC

havent seem the confirmation of toyota... can you post the link?

i think gen2 is only heavier by 50kg if i remember correctly

although i am inclined to believe this since we have all 3 generations of vios. pero i still believe a big portion of the "malakas sa gas" is from our minds playing tricks on us based on the fuel gauge input.

best to do the FC method para malaman fuel comsption.

Mas malaki ba talaga stock tires ng Gen3 compared sa mga dati? If yes, that's probably another factor worth considering.
