Don't you think Php2 Million pesos converted to American Dollars = $40,000
    is too expensive?

In US. The price of a E-Class Benz is the same.

Wouldn't be so bad paying taxes if the money were being spent well, right. But some (much?) of it is going either to private hands or to pay interest on big loans that went bad, like for that nuclear plant that never produced any energy, no?

    although....

    local mazda3 800k
    US price $14k = 700k

    konti lang difference.

the tax / price differential is on the much more expensive cars. unfortunately the tax brackets aren't changing, but car prices are steadily creeping upward.
