August 6th, 2012 04:49 PM #1Hi Guys,
Need your opinions..
due to budget constraints I could not afford to buy a brand new fortuner, is it practical to buy a 2007 Diesel model?
Would appreciate your inputs on maintenance cost and fuel consumption.
Thank you

August 6th, 2012 08:52 PM #2it's practical IF the owner treated it well. it's suicidal if owner mal-treated it.

The quality of 'casa maintained' is debatable. But at least it's maintained on a regular basis.

^Yep, i never take "casa maintained" as a fool proof item either. Marami naman diyan na "CASA maintained" because the owner's know nothing more and let their drivers do the driving always.
Service records is one thing, but also do others such as:
- check out how the owner keeps his garage; if you see he has other cars that are well kept and personally keeps them detailed, serviced, etc. then that's one good sign.
- try to buy from an actual, first owner so the history of the vehicle is more traceable
- if you're serious to purchase, take the vehicle to a service station for it to be lifted and inspected thoroughly.
Choice I would have made as well.
