Or they have to bring in the 1.2L 3NR engine found on Yaris Ativ, Wigo/Agya and Vios in Thailand and Indonesia.
1.0L Wigo engine in the Vios? Meron na ba nito sa other countries?
Sana ibalik ulit yung 7 airbags sa base, j, xe and xle

Because the current facelift is ugly af and they know it.
It's still a 3rd generation though, 2nd facelift na yan but still very ugly, they should just go for an all-new 4th gen that's based sa TNGA because wala ng pag-asa etong 3rd gen.

According to Thai fuel economy tests the 1.2L Yaris Ativ (4th gen Vios) was indeed really fuel efficient.

It is, the 1KR engine option was only available in the Gen 2 Vios in the Japanese-market Toyota Belta with a cvt.Toyota does offer it in the European yaris still and Daihatsu uses the 1KR as the base engine in their 7-seater Sigra(based on the wigo platform) and they offered a version of the Xenia(Avanza) with a 1.0 Engine until 2016 when they introduced the Sigra/Toyota Cayla.
Just checked Toyota Thailand website the 1.2L is powering the Yaris Ativ and the 1.5L for the Vios with the old 2014-2018 body.

I think yung 7 airbags available lang sa e, e prime, g and g prime variants then the lower variants gets only 3 airbags

Full reskin in 2018. Same platform and inner structure, all visible body panels are different from 2013 model. Current gen is rounder than the previous one. I prefer the previous body.
Not a fan of the current 2018 body but the 2020 facelift is at least an improvement.

I don't think Toyota Philippines will spend billions on upgrading their manufacturing plant in the next 12-24months.
They need to upgrade their plant for the TNGA platform.
Hopefully its a scalable plant for TNGA-B (future wigo and new gen vios) and TNGA-C (corolla and corolla cross)
Agree... plus based on the article I shared on another thread... Looks like the Vios won't meet the requirement for CARS
I think in general, that goes for the region. Being a mid-cycle refresh, expect it to stick around for a bit more.
Off-topic: Came across this, Toyota's subcompact sedan in China.
The Yaris L sedan (Vios) is based on the older body.
