Yes for 2019 new vios gen.also EBD and stability control as a standard specs for all variance and it was built locally in the Philippines.

my guess is, toyota is still tweaking its cvts, so that it will be virtually bulletproof. that's probably when it will go cvt 100%.

When the 3rd gen Vios was launched, it had a 1.3L 4AT while Hyundai had the 1.4 6AT Accent.

On paper, the Hyundai seems to have an advantage but in practice, the Vios had a peppier engine with better spaced gears. The 4AT had good acceleration in first and second gear for city driving, while 4th gear was long enough for relaxed rpms on highway driving. The Accent on the other hand always hunted for gears and somehow always felt out of the powerband.

Point is - a 4AT isn't necessarily bad as long as it's done right.

I had a Civic with a 5AT and currently have a Civic with a CVT. Same engine for both (1.8L). The Civic with the CVT is significantly better - smoother, better FC, better performance.

CVTs have evolved a lot over the past decade and are well-matched to most people's driving needs.

The honda city is PH made (or assembled, I forgot) too, and that’s a better car than the vios. Looks better and has more features.

The newer ones or the 1st gen CVT from the “ipis” city?

Haven’t heard any issues with the newer ones. The 1st gen CVTs were faulty though.
