Curious about those 2.8 exclusive features: what is stability control and active Traction control?

Traction control is a safety feature that prevents tire slippage, such as when driving on wet roads or when taking a corner at high speed.

It saves you from fishtailing or understeering as it maximizes your tires' grip on the road, keeping you in control of the car.

It's a very handy feature to have, especially for tall SUVs such as the Fortuner/Montero/Everest.

What I'd like to see become standard in these tall SUVs is hydraulic body motion control. They all look so tall for their respective tracks. It looks hard to corner at decent highway speed with these things.

Because these trucks were not designed for cornering at all. Remember, these are designed as low-cost SUVs for emerging markets. Sophisticated suspension will just add to the production cost, even if most buyers do not need nor want it.

^Except that at over 2M apiece now, it's not very low-cost anymore...
