Anyone one here tried reserving at the local dealer? If its anything like ten years ago, the act of placing a reservation is probably a useless and futile exercise.
"a lofty target of 2000 units per month" . Lofty indeed! With retail sales starting by the middle of March, TMP set a lofty target of moving some 2,000 units of the Fortuner on a monthly basis.
TMP needs to bring in enough units this time and not leave lowly customers (buyers with no dealer or insider connection) in the hangers. Situation is not the same as in ten years when there was no competitor that can stand toe to toe with the Gen 1 Fortuner before. Now we have Everest, Montero, Alterra, etc...so plenty of other places for people to park their money in, if Toyota does not shape up from its current state of tired, unethical, shady practices of reservation/waiting list/accessories racket. Yes other brands are also doing this but its more evident with Toyota. TMP never seem to learn their lesson (meaning they are filled with incompetent management) or its simply part of their marketing strategy.
Toyota just lost 3 percentage point in the market share. For the first time in years hindi na siya more than double sa market share nang Mitsu.
They need to really stop prizing their cars higher than the market.
Silver looks really good without tint

2000 units is a fair enough target considering their old Fortuner was still able to sell 1600-2000 units a month.
Of course, the difference now is that the Montero and Everest are very compelling choices, and the Fortuner has gotten expensive. This will be a test of how much a premium the T badge can really command without losing market share.

PH Fort HU (AVT model from 2015) versus Fort HU from everywhere else..
Fort V only comes only with rear sensors, no rear camera despite the Php 1.7-2.1m pricetag. . LOL. Fokdisshit!

My next ride would be this Fortuner, not the Everest, MuX nor the MS...
That will be in about ten years.... :hysterical:
Hindi ba.. Dapat 10k kms. Na? Mga old schools diesel Lang ang every 5k kms. Ang interval... Kung sabihin nila na Sobrang dumi or traffic sa pilipinas... That's b.s. - unless nalang kung use sa racing and unit mo..
I bet theyre only going to release a more feature packed version for similar money if sales dip. Otherwise theyre raking the cash in. That would be on time for their first facelift.
If history repeats itself, this fortuner will still be selling by 2026. I wonder if it has a rear camera by then? [emoji85]

Any updates from toyota if when they'll sell their Fortuner? what i know is they accepting reservations for now.
I don't get it.
Even the Innova J variants gets 2.8 li (detuned though) while the Fortuner G only gets the 2.4 li ?
I rather have the detuned 2.8 in the Fortuner 4x2's anytime!

I'm interested to see how Toyota's product planning strategy will pan out. I mean, yeah sure we can bash their bare variants all we want. But at the end of the day, if it sells well and Toyota retains market leadership in the segment, then it would turn out to be a sound business decision. It would mean that the Toyota brand has become so strong in the country that it's enough to offset whatever shortcomings their products might have in terms of features. It could also mean that the styling of the Fortuner is so well-received that it supersedes any lack of features.
If it doesn't work, then it becomes an opportunity for Mitsubishi and Ford to take the PPV crown. They've laid their offers on the table, it's up to the market to decide.
