Its all about money. Sabi nga nuon, kahit magbenta pa kariton toyota marami pa rin bibili kasi toyota.

Why would they put those expensive vsc computers and sensors if kahit drum brake mabenta pa rin?

LOL.

owning different brand of cars you can really tell what is durable or not.. availability of parts is the number one factor and syempre how you drive and take care of it. maybe they want they hard earned money be on the safe side for choosing the T badge its not only here in the philippines but also in our neighboring country this brand always on top.

some cars are about the newest and the bestest.
other cars are all about "what works... reliably", never mind if it's ancient technology.

some buyers prefer the first. others prefer the latter.
car manufacturers know who their customers are.

Second time I heard the Fortuner being compared to a kariton. First one was with the SA of Mitsubishi who even called the GM for Sales of Toyota Alabang. He he he

I really don't get why it's so hard for people to understand that other people value different things and have different priorities in buying a car.

"Car enthusiasts" will always go for the best specs for a certain price point, or perhaps the highest power output or best handling. But most car buyers have other things in mind.

For some, looks are paramount and they are willing to pay more or accept less features if they think the car is beautiful to look at. For others, it doesn't have to be class-leading at anything, as long as the car won't give them a headache throughout their entire ownership. Still others are loyal to certain brands because of previous good experiences with the said brands.

At the very least, people should genuinely learn to respect that.

ME. Loyal to Corolla because of the AE101

In spite of all the horrors I went through with my current Corolla, I'd buy the Fort if I had the money

Toyota must give a huge discount for the outgoing 2016 fort models. Maybe 50-100k discount would do. 🙂

Bet ko ito. Pero expect for a few years to come before it happens. Ganyan talaga toyota pag unang release ng new models.

Pros & cons make each cars in the same class different from each other pati yung subjective ones narin like the looks of interior or exterior and etc. Kanya kanyang characteristics yan eh kaya to each his own sa kanilang trip or gusto nya.

I think mas outstanding sya tingnan pag nabihisan sya pero at this point, i'm not forgetting that at the price of the base model (1.5m for 2.4 g), i think obvious na marami syang kulang na features kumpara sa ibang suv like yung disc brakes or auto climate control sa pre-2018 models tapos ang OA pa ng pricing ng 4x4 v na may kulang din na features sa iba.

Still, di ako magreklamo dahil at least ginawa na nilang standard ang disc brakes sa 2018 na fort which made me respect it more. Pero this is just a personal opinion. Nothing weird or what.

Just asking kasi yun rig namin before kaya yun ang basis ko sa tagtag/ride nya and i want to consider sana the new fort for next year. Ty for the inputs.
