    Toyota will introduce the Wigo super mini next month here in the Philippines. Prices will start at around 450k for the base model according to a TMP insider. Engine is 1.2L, we can expect manual and automatic transmissions to be offered.

    The Wigo is a renamed Toyota Agya supermini which is based on a Daihatsu Ayla.

    There are earlier speculations that Toyota will go head to head with Mitsu's current sales champ Mirage supermini.

    Get used to it. If it makes business sense, car companies will do it. And as long as quality is we should have no problem with it.

    logic tells me, it depends...

    small engine = small power output, if user demands frequent to max power from this tiny power plant then the result is over heat...

    aka over utilization...

    Not really as long as proper maintenance and you don't overload. We work on bigger engines 3.0liters and up and if there really is a problem, they also overheat quickly.

    The Avanza and Wigo are Daihatsus with Toyota badges

    The Toyota Wigo will be produced at the Astra-Daihatsu plant in Indonesia, designated as the production hub of the model.

    Here's another runaway winner for Toyota. Insanely competitive pricing. Basic car for those who only need the bare essentials. I wonder if the engine does 15 km/L in city driving.

    OT: New i10 still has the old one's odd tall-boy proportions. The Ford Ka on the other hand looks absolutely stunning.

    So, how much will Toyota PH sell the Wigo mini hatchback for?

    So, how much will Toyota PH sell the Wigo mini hatchback for?

    An executive in the Toyota dealership network has sent us the official pricing for the soon-to-be-launched (next month, as a matter of fact) Toyota Wigo mini hatchback. Apparently, our price projection of P430,000 is a little off as the cheapest Wigo variant will go for P448,000.

    Here are the three Wigo variants together with their price tags, as confirmed by another high-ranking official in the Toyota community:

    * Wigo 1.0G AT - P534,000

    * Wigo 1.0G MT - P499,000

    * Wigo 1.0E MT - P448,000

    Only the top variant has automatic transmission; the other two are manual.
