2014 Toyota Wigo 1.0G M/T - Honest Car Reviews Philippines

I read through review above and checked out the pictures. Picture number #4 is of the sticker in the engine bay which contains "valve clearance" data, which I haven't seen in a new car for a very very long time.

Does this mean that the valve clearances must be adjusted periodically like cars made before the turn of the millennium? Can the experts in this forum help with this question?

    Thanks in advance!

Yes, it needs to be adjusted. I have the 1KR-FE engine mechanical (pdf)file and...looks complicated. There are 8 main steps and on the fifth, you have to remove all 13bolts and 2nuts to remove the cylinder head cover.

Thanks *Izzie for the reply. This engine seems to be a throwback to the 1990s -- no VVTi and manually adjusted valve tappet.

Weird for a Toyota, but it explains why Wigo is so affordable. If you can wait an extra hour every periodic servicing, then I guess it won't really matter. It's just so retro though...

    Thanks again.

Sad to say but I backed out na sa Wigo, maraming ng stock for the E variant but for the G variant my SA could still not give me an estimate date. I'll be getting my mirage na tomorrow, pero more power pa din to Wigo owners and wannabe owners here, I still think this car is a bang for the buck

I have heard and read a lot of horror stories about it. Actually, that is the same reason that is holding me back to buying a very good car (mirage).

I have considered that na din sir don't worry, meron community mga mirage owners and they have contacts where to get cheap parts, accessories, good casa service etc hehe.. ayaw ko kasi matapos summer ng hindi na ipapasyal daughter ko, I promised her kasi that we would go on roadtrips this summer.

so i decided to check yung nasa alabang kasi kung regular PMS lang - wala naman dapat problema.

like for regular oil change, pagbalik sayo ng kotse isstart nila with your SA. tapos papatayin makina then huhugutin oil dipstick para sigurado kang bago yung langis mo. bukod pa sa nakikita mo ito sa window.

If you cant watch videos while driving, my friendly electrician can trick the monitor into thinking the parking brake is engaged. Just by tapping a wire in the dash. I guess there wont be warranty problems as everything looks the same afterwards. The system waits for a signal from the parkingbrake light. By changing over to a wire that is always powered, the system thinks the park brake is always engaged. Hehe. Just visit the jemson thread in the electrical forums if you need to find him.

Anyway, the reason I posted is I want to ask how to make the navigation work. Where can I get the SD card and does it need an extra antenna also? The antenna can be sourced quite easily. Its the sd that im clueless about. No, i dont have a wigo. Just helping out a friend. Thank you sirs.

Is there an interior trunk release button or lever? For those mall entrance inspections. Or does one have to turn off the engine and use the key topen the hatch?
