Toyota 86
Now it can officially be told: The pricing for the Toyota 86 will indeed be competitive. Amid speculations on how Toyota Motor Philippines would peg the prices of its much-awaited sports coupe, TopGear.com.ph has received the official list of the 86's introductory prices.
As we reported here last week, there are going to be three variants: a standard manual, a standard automatic and a top-of-the-line automatic with bodykit. A pearl-white paint job is available for all three variants for an additional P15,000.
* 86 2.0 AT Aero (White Pearl) - P1,875,000
* 86 2.0 AT Aero - P1,860,000
* 86 2.0 AT (White Pearl) - P1,665,000
* 86 2.0 AT - P1,650,000
* 86 2.0 MT (White Pearl) - P1,565,000
* 86 2.0 MT - P1,550,000
So, what do you think of these prices?

Kung ang Veloster 1.4M, konti na lang naka-86 ka na. Ba't ka pa bibili ng Veloster?
Reading the official price list gives me goose bumps. :-) Wonder what the Aero includes aside from the Body Kit? Coz that's a 200K difference right there. Body kits don't cost that much.
I'm more interested in the 2.0 Standard A/T. Much as M/T is more fun, living in Metro Manila makes the A/T more practical for me. Glad it has paddle shifters and is 6-speed with very good response. Red or the dark blue for me.
Lighter rims, leather seats, better ICE for the Aero?

HARI might back off on launching the Veloster.
Damned!! My brother gave me the idea to sell my aging 99 Corolla GLi and buy the 2013 Toyota GT86.
drove a scion frs and subaru brz yesterday, i'd wait for the brz.the brz handles better and has a more firm ride but the frs was more comfortable because of the softer ride. also this car was probably the lowest stock japanese car i've ever driven, driving inside it literally felt like you we're only 2 inches above the ground. so if you're old or having a hard time getting into sedans then you'll be cursing this car. anyway both handles really great i'd say the best or one of the best handling jap car in stock form. power wasn't that much but i was already expecting that, but it doesn't disappoint, i had more fun driving the brz than my old STi even though it has less HP. wasn't able to test drive the ft86 since it's not available here in the states. also want to add that the brz felt more solid compared to the frs.
