"I was bleeding badly, yet bus driver did not help me"

A female commuter fell off a bus, hit her head against the bus stop seats and sustained serious cuts which landed her in a critical condition. Yet, instead of helping her, the bus driver ignored her pleas for help and drove off.

STOMPer Angela, a working mother in her 50s fell while she was alighting from bus 65 along Paterson Road at about 7.15 am on 17 July.

She had a deep cut on her head, a wound so deep her skull was exposed.

Blood streaming down her head and shirt, she called for the driver’s help.

He simply drove off, ignoring her.

The STOMPer hurt her thumb in the accident as well

Angela was then helped by a Filipino commuter, whom she had assisted earlier when he asked her for directions, and she was sent to Singapore General Hospital.

There, she received 11 stitches in total.

When STOMP spoke to her a day later, she was still in pain.

Angela said, "I'm so glad I'm not alone. I'm so scared. When I fell, the Filipino went up the bus again asking the bus driver to help call the ambulance. But instead of rendering any help, he just drove off like that!

The Filipino is a foreigner, and he does not know the emergency number. So I told him that I have a phone and he helped me to call 995.

While waiting for the ambulance, another bus arrived at the stop, and this time, this bus driver immediately came down with a first aid kit and gave me a bandage to slow the bleeding."

She added that the ambulance was taking far too long, so the Filipino Samaritan flagged a taxi and she was brought to the hospital.

The STOMPer is outraged at the first driver for his unkindness and remarked,

"Being Singaporean, he did not help. A foreigner came to my aid instead.

    How embarrassing!"

She is, however, extremely grateful for the Filipino and the second bus driver for their gracious acts.

STOMP has contacted SBS and is waiting for their response.

wonder why kung nasa pinas dedma mga tao tumulong, like the other day dito sa emerald ave, this korean girl dropped her folder sa harap ng strata (just to clarify, patawid palang ako papuntang strata hehe)...

3 guys were sitting sa plant box smoking, 2 girls were in front waiting for a cab... nobody helped the poor kid chase after her flying papers...

yung matandang nagwawalis lang yung tumulong...
