^ bakit bos? i don't think any other entity, local or foreign, would enter the calamity stricken and highly tumultuos philippine railroad industry
Hoping for the day that trains will become the primary mode of transport once again
That will be the sign that we have industrialized already

Gov’t rolls out P171-B railway project | Inquirer Business
“Rail systems are a driver for inclusive socioeconomic growth. They encourage trade and business activity, and provide access to employment and educational opportunities. The PNR, once a symbol of the country’s economic progress, should be modernized into a safe, convenient and efficient system by 2020,” Abaya said.
Upon full operations, the DOTC said there would be 10 daily trips with seven train sets passing through 66 stations.
It is expected to yield a demand of 316,000 passengers a day on its opening year and is projected to entice around 44,000 public and private vehicle users to shift their commutes to the modernized railway.
laking gulo na naman Neto sa min sa Batangas City kase ang old PNR Track was now full of concrete houses....interesting things to watch out na naman.
The Govt should abolish the Lina law and just bulldoze those squatters. Masyado matagal pag may relocation and whatnot pa.
Yes sana nga matuloy, since railways define our country.

oo nga eh. pati daw iyong elevated highway spanning the domestic road up to the future sight of those casinos in the macapagal avenue area a year delayed partly because of a similar problem of this nature

is true that ayala corp has taken over the pnr? i've been hearing talk about this (from a pnr employee no less) since last year but i don't recall seeing it on our broadsheets or on tv
i'm not sure if there will still be a pnr in the near future but i hope this rail way rehab/creation via a japanese loan starts sooner than later
PH, Japan seal P97-B commuter rail project | Inquirer Business
i have always thought, that a pan-philippine railroad is as good an idea as a pan-philippine highway..
i do not know why our leaders refuse to plan for it.
and they say they want to de-congest metro manila? ...spread wealth to the provinces..?
...lip service lang pala..
i want to try it again riding the train from manila to naga city. we did it decades ago and i was ~7 yata. all i remember was we took off at tutuban ~3PM then arrived naga at dawn.
truly i was fascinated with that entire "bumpy journey."
.
On my opinion.. laparan natin mga train natin.
If i remeber it right, PNR has a 10M or 5M ROW both side of its track, kaso puro squater ang andun.
I thought this was planned to be bidded by the government before? so wala ng bidding na mangyayari at government na naman ang mag ooperate? e di parang lrt case din yan, few years down the line, mega reklamo na naman ang sambayanan.
