For CAS i think effective pa rin yung guns. Pag vs fighter e yun ang malabo
Missiles can be spoofed or decoyed. A bullet is a bullet. Kaya even the latest stealth fighters have guns![]()
Pero iba pa rin ang Warthog

the 25 S211 jet trainers were acquired in the late 1980s and early 1990s. the contract was signed during the time of president Cory Aquino.
the sf260 aircraft presently operating are no longer the ones bought in the 1970s and 80s. the older ones were bought in the 1970s, the next batch under Cory and Ramos. the latest 18 new SF260TP were bought in 2011 by the present administration.
the same is true for the sokol helicopters. recent purchases lang yan, with the contract signed during the time of pres Gloria Arroyo and the 8 aircraft (less 1, crashed and undergoing repairs) were delivered in 2011.
^I think the more likely reason was the rampant corruption. Too much risk of advanced weapons falling into opfor hands. Kung human rights ang issue, not likely since they already heavily support Indonesia, Chile, Argentina, etc.
^corruption is very much rampant in all the countries you mentioned and i believe only indonesia got americas 4th generation fighters (f16)
There must be something the americans need from indonesia thats why they are keen in overriding their human rights concern with sukarno
The argentinians got skyhawk which is basically an old generation jet technology from the americans
I dont have much info about chileans

I'm under the impression these countries paid for their aircraft. I'm sure the US will sell more advanced aircraft to the PH if the latter can afford them.
Look at Singapore. I guess that country bought a bunch of F-15s and now have a permanent presence here for live-fire training.

we were offered the F16 a long time ago when the US congress stopped the sale of 60 F16s to Pakistan. The price, $5.5B for the 60 units, was too high. we could not even afford half a squadron.
they are looking now at purchasing either the F16V "Viper" or the SAAB JAS 39 Gripen.
sana may budget.
at sana every year may allocation after, kahit 4 units per year lang.
F16 was depicted in iron eagle movie
