I saw almost the same thing in Rustan's grocery.
But this time you just have to buy it for about 100 bucks and all the puchases that fit in the bag(s) you bought will, if I remember correctly, be subject to either a rebate or a certain discount from the total or something like that.
This is a good move.
When I was stationed in The Netherlands, you had to pay for your grocery plastic bags.
Normally, we'd bring a backpack or something similar to carry our purchases after payment.
You can also get a reusable bag from the store for a fee but you get store credit or some other reward starting the day you buy it and everytime you go back and use the bag for groceries.
Let's do our part for the environment

I think they should make this compulsory! ang mga ilog at creeks na puno ng basura na sanhi ng mga baha... puro plastic! maski sa mga beach at tubig sa dagat, kalimitan ng lumulutang eh mga plastic na supot! we have to do our share individually to help the environment!
I also prefer silver. hindi halata na madumi na and some imperfections like faded color and slight...
