no sir. it's FVR's term (1992-1998). Cory was 1986-1992. it was FVR's vision to make the phils a newly industrialized country by year 2000. unfortunately the asian financial crisis hit us in late '97-'98. kaya start uli tayo from scratch. then came erap and edsa 2 in 2001. the economy was also about to take off in 2003 but the oakwood mutiny happened. and then now we have oh so many scandals and power/attention grabbing. haaay.

    6. Texas Instruments has been operating in Baguio for over 20 years. The Baguio plant is the largest producer of DSP chips in the world. DSP chips are the brains behind cell phones. TI’s Baguio plant produces the chip that powers 100 percent of all Nokia cell phones and 80 percent of Sony Ericsson cell phones in the world.
I was actually surprised when I learned this. A classmate in my MBA class works for TI, and it turns out it's one of the biggest exporters in the Philippines.

Oh, yeah... those semiconductors also end up in a lot of automobiles, too.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
