First Isuzu, then Mitsu now Suzuki? there have been rumors that Suzuki is contemplating pulling out of the vast American car market, where 16-17 million new vehicles are sold annually and only 75,000 of them are Suzukis(per 2004 sales).
Suzuki is no.4 in Japan, ahead of Mitsu,Mazda and Subaru. It sold 165k vehicles in Europe and is popular in other parts of Asia. But the company just can't crack the US market. The trouble is Suzuki makes small cars and trucks, and in America where size and power (and cupholders) rule, Suzukis are just not big and powerful enough. Take the XL-7, big in Suzuki standard but small to America.
Anyway, here's the link

So is Suzuki packing up and going home to Japan? American Prez Koichi Suzuki does not think so.....yet.

February 23rd, 2005 03:18 PM #2well, they can focus on markets for small cars, like europe or asia. ewan ko ba sa us, parang galing sa gripo ung gasolina
dito kc, they're just a bit too low profile, at parang nagki clearance sale ng obsolete models (e.g. carry, bravo, vitara, samurai). so i'm not really sure what their strategy is for RP. Sayang, Zukis seem to be very durable pa naman
there's this youtube article, about a 2000s altis, that had a high rpm on cold start (2000+ daw),...
high idle RPM at engine start
