September 28th, 2012 11:16 AM #1323I asked my wife to have our Jimny serviced yesterday; 5,000 km mark. She complained that fumes were getting into the vehicle.
The casa installed a interior cabin air filter (about 8"x10"), Suzuki Part # 95860-81A10, and she was told this was not a stock part and didn't come standard with the vehicle.
WTF??!! Why would a car maker provide a filtration compartment, but not put in the filter?!
She also complained about the squeaky rear seats. The squeaks are now gone, but she wasn't told what was done.
Oh, btw, Suzuki Pasig takes a long, long time to service vehicles. Naka dalawang break - merienda and lunch - yung mga gumagawa, habang naghihintay yung misis ko ng buong umaga sa customer lounge nila (she arrived 7:40am and was able to leave after 11am na). The first time I waited for my Jimny inside that lounge (for the 1,000 km check-up), mechanics would stop by, linger to watch NBA games on the wide screen tv, and chat with each other. Di na nahiya sa mga waiting customers. No sense of urgency. Spoiled fat cats. tsk tsk. I think I will look for a different Suzuki casa for the 3rd service check-up.

According to some owners, check the electronics. 2004 and below have sensitive engine bay electronics, but replacement sensors are cheap (about 1k+ per sensor or whatever that needs to be replaced). The 2006 model, the first one with the push-button 4H/4L selector switches had a solenoid that was sensitive to floods, but latter push-button models, no problem.
Aside from that, check the usual, alignment, suspension, transmission.... though in the suspension, the only thing I'd really worry about is the end-links for the front anti-roll bar if it gets tweaked off-road.
These little things are tough, and so far, I haven't seen one with any major rust issues or engine issues... except one that blew up after two years of being turbocharged to twice its stock power.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
