NO PLATE, NO TRAVEL
The long-awaited “No Plate, No Travel” policy will finally be implemented early next year, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) assured yesterday. LTO Spokesperson Jason Salvador said that until a vehicle is properly registered – meaning it has the issuance of the official receipt and the certificate of registration and the plates – the dealer will not be allowed to deliver the vehicle or for their customers to take it home. Violators risk a P10,000 fine and the impounding of their vehicle should they ply the roads without a plate, while dealers could face either suspension, citations, and the revocation of their accreditation to sell vehicles.
