April 5th, 2008 08:36 PM #1hi mga sirs, new lang ako d2 sa tsikot. i own a 2003 samurai 1.3L Jx (all stock). my fuel consumption: 8.7 ~ 9 km/L sa city driving and combination with highway. kahit di ako gumagamit ng aircon, ganun pa din consumption. mahal na kc ngayon gasoline, so maybe u can give me suggestion kung pwede pa sya i-adjust or modify or do something para mas maging efficient pa?
makukuha pa to sa regular tune up using synthetic lube at adjustment ng timing ng engine? modification/replace/adjustment sa carburator?
or, bawas ng overall weight?
or, should i trade it with honda civic lxi?
any suggestion is highly appreciated
salamat ng marami mga sirs

sir i dont know the normal FC for your ride pero i own a civic lxi... im getting 12-14 km/l pero im doing neutrals in high speeds. yung iba naman normally is getting 10-12. so im guessing its not far off.
baka sir kailangan lang ng malupit na tune up niyan... pero lets wait for the reply of others.

I own a Vitara bro, kung highway driving umaabot ako ng 14 km/liter with aircon on. Kung alang aircon lampas 15km/liter. What I do is just maintain a constant speed lang o 60 to 70 kph and do regular tune-ups. I have monitored my FC kasi since last year (nasa excel file sa bahay-for budget purposes). It also helps (I believe) that I have used 10w30 synthetic oil during regular tune-ups/change-oils. I used to get lower figures (mga 10-12 km/liter lang - highway driving) when I was still using 20w50 oil. Regular changing of fuel and filters also helps, follow the tire air pressure na nasa door sill din bro. And follow the specified PMS schedule. Wag mo nang ibenta ang samurai mo, mas bombastic yan kaysa sa auto.
if i were the taxman, i'd also be against lowering taxes on anything... but if there were a law...
