IMO totally not worth the wear on starter and battery.

This is the amount of fuel saved by start stop having the engine off for 2 hours and 26 minutes on a Subaru Outback with a 3.0li H6 over its entire life (from /r/subaru)



One gallon! That's 4.54 liters savings spread over 40,000 miles or 64,000 km.
