i'm not sure if there is anything that can be done. current generation of a/t vehicles momentarily curtain power to unload the tranny so that smoother shifts can be achieved. what i do when i drive an a/t is at the point where the tranny will shift, i ease up on the accelerator. there's less 'shock' to almost none if you get it right. with the same technique, you can also 'trick' the tranny into changing gear at your desired shift points. you just have to practice it though.
