tried powerplus before, ok naman. its a good alternative to refacing. around 1k plus each for a normal sedan.

whoa! nagtaas na siguro yung powerplus. before, around 1.5k lang kuha ko.

aside from what mbeige said, you have to install new pads as well para sure ka na walang magiging problem.

on a sidenote, are there any shops who can properly bed-in new brake pads? can it be done while the car is on a hoist?

i read the instructions about the brake pads that i bought but there's no place here in manila where you can run properly bed-in the pads.

    What's "bed-in"?

break-in period ng brakes. it has something to do with the transfer of film from the pads to the rotors to fully maximize the pads.

Ang alam kong dapat i-break-in are the rotors, not the pads. I think you wash the new rotors with a solvent since the surface is coated with something to prevent it from rusting out (like when already installed on cars - the edges rust out).

I've used replacements (power plus and generic) before and they all performed okay. Never warped unlike the OEM Toyota rotors they replaced (Hiace, Altis, Vios)

Same here dr D! 24 years of driving and never changed rotors. Baka mas pangit quality lately sa ibang models. Had an old 2005 fortuner that ran almost 120k kms but rotors held up very well.

195k + KM na yun gamit kong vios, and 3rd brake pad replacement yun kinabit ko last weekend. nabasa ko kasi online, pag city driving (stop & go), mas madalas palitan rotor. hence the inquiry, para kung manipis na sya may idea nako kung ano maganda at murang ipalit.

btw good for you guys, at di nyo kailangan mag palit ng rotor.
