Guys may alam ba kayong shop na nag-pareface ng disc brake, kasi everytime na tinatapakan ang brake palagi na lang may ingay na parang kumakatok, kung ipapagawa ko naman sa rapide' baka mahal na naman ang charge nila sa akin, any suggestion would be highly appreciated thanks.

may prob rin po ako sa brakes. pano pag nanginginig yung brake pedals pag na inapakan yung brake.

yung car pala is crosswing xuvi.

Happened also to my wife's 97 Galant. Vibrating brake pedals and steering wheel when brakes were applied. Some Pinoy mechanic from Mits suggested to change to original brake pads. Nothing happened even with original brake pads. Culprit.......lose thread na turnilyo sa brake caliper.

btw, kung hndi mo pa nahahanapan ng solution, I suggest to jack the car up, take off the wheels and go check the brake pads... Very less na nasa rotors yung problem ng knocking sound... Your pads have probably caught some rocks that got stuck between the pads and the rotor... that happened on my Infiniti G20 before... GL

Agree with benchph1, sounds like a loose brake caliper.
AER does rotor refacing, as do most known machine shops. Expect to pay about P1k+ a pair.

some goodyear servitek service stations have a dedicated lathe machine for brake rotors. mas ok ito kasi sabay ang pag reface sa both sides ng rotor. unlike sa mga machine shops na one side at a time lang. forgot how much was the cost nung nagpa reface ako.

sorry kung offtopic. . . ung liteace namin pinalitan ang 2 rotor discs + 2 brake pads, around 18 thousand ung bill, sa toyota pasong tamo... first replacement ng mga ito at 86,000km . pwede na imo kaysa reface...

kung makapal pa naman ang rotors at hindi pa nag-warp, ok lang pa-reface. kesa gumastos ng 18K!

that's horrendous. replacement rotor discs for the mazda 626 are only 2000 each (new) in banawe. granted, hindi original yun, but a rotor disc is just a round piece of metal..

does your prake pedal pulsate whenever you hit the brakes? or your steering wheel wiggles whenever you apply the brakes? If your answer is yes then the front brake discs need replacement already. Refacing is only applicable if it is still within the specified thickness (usually stamped somewhere in the disc.) Average price is 300 per disc. YOu might as well have the wheel bearings checked.

When I step on the brake wala naman pulsating sa pedal niya, sa steering wheel naman di naman nag-wiggle.

check mo sa rotor ung maximum allowable rotor thickness (in milllimeters). kahit shudder kayang isolve ng refacing. try goodyear servitek.

Teka mukang di mo kailangan pareface ang mga discs. Anong oto ba topic natin? Where is the knocking sound coming from? Front or rear brakes? I assume na front discs and rear drums ang brake set-up ng oto mo coz that's common these days. Next question, When do you hear the knocking sound?...paabante o paatras?

Car ko is Kia Pride hatch back cd-5 knocking sound front brake, ang sound niya na knocking noise pag-tinatapakan ko ang brake half way pa lang sa pa-abante lang ingay niya paatras wala.

Sir clueless ako dyan. SOrry. YOu might need to have a second opinion. I was thinking kasi na baka rear brakes naririning mo. Yung leading and trailing na shoe gumagalay kasi yan. Pag umatras ka't pumreno gagalaw...pagabante mo at preno..babalik tapos may knocking sound. Normal yan sa ganung klaseng drum brakes.

Ang ingay niya kumakatok na tok-tok-tok pag-tinatapakan ang preno halfway pa lang pero pag todo tapak sa brake wala naman. Sabi daw cv joint pero pag cv joint di ba sa steering wheel iyon?
