so ok ang pump, no leaks (as of now hehehe) and meron na power assist yung manibela.

fourtheboys, san mo pinagawa yung kotse mo and saan yung carpower shop where you bought your repair kit?

i have the same problem with my 04 accord. grabe maubos yung ps fluid dun sa reservoir and may tulo talaga. nung pina-check ko sa mga apat na talyer sabi nila lahat rack and pinion daw sira at kailangan daw ng repair kit. naghanap ako ng repair kit sa banawe at wala pa daw sila nung ganung model. sa honda costs 14k. sakit sa bulsa and i can't afford that right now.

kaya kaya nung mekaniko mo ito? or kaya kaya ni speedyfix? thanks.

should be easy pero i would only suggest getting an oem repair kit for the car. yun lang yung tested namin na matibay. then you have to check also kung may kain na yung shafting or not. carefull din while the rack is removed or else you might brake the ribbon of the airbag...

    thanks, speedyfix.

i don't know how to check the shafting so I'll just leave it to you guys when I bring it there. Mag-iipon muna ako for the repair kit. medyo masakit sa bulsa presyo nun. maghahanap din ako kung san meron ng OEM. thanks, pre.

carpower is in pasay rotonda (that's what they call that area in pasay).

dito kasi ako sa laguna kaya taga dito din yung mekaniko. mas convenient kasi malapit although sometimes i have to provide them with some instructions and illustrations para tama yung trabaho.

kung sa metro manila ka, try mo yung speedy fix. search mo yung thread about the shop para sa background info at feedback about speedyfix.

normally surplus racks range from 15-20k. excluding labor and psf.

inspect mo muna yung rack and pinion mo before thinking of buying a surplus.

yung internals naman ng valve body bihira masira. yung rack (shaft) ang dapat in good condition meaning walang deep scratches or scores. and keep in mind na meron part ng shaft na meron talagang scratch marks due to contact with the rack guide. ok lang ito basta makinis pa din yung part ng shaft na in contact with the oil seal.

    salamat.

kotse nga pala is ek hatch.

if minsan mabigat and minsan ok yung feel ng power steering it may be a pump or pressure hose problem

Im having the same problem on a corolla 93. Zee recommends hard chroming to even out the rough but not so deep scratches on the shaft.

What do you think about hard chroming? Or should I save up for the surplus?

    Hi Speedy,
I ended up having it resurfaced and then had the repair kit installed. I hope this holds up.

Btw, what brand of power steering anti leak fluid would you recommend? Cyclos any good?

don't use a stop leak product if you're already overhauled the rack. just use the correct psf for your car.
