got my repair kit from carpower. Php2,100 binigay sa akin nung orly. OEM daw.

sa monday pa bubuuin ng mekaniko ko yung steering gearbox. sana ndi na tumagas. ndi pa naman na machine shop yung steering rack ko kasi wala naman tama dun sa part na abot ng oil seal. makinis pa except the back side of the gear. pero after thorougly analyzing the how the parts move, yung "scratch marks" should not affect the oil seals. kaya siya may marks ay dahil sa rack guide.

if u have the money, bili ka ng bagong steering rack 6K brands new (carpower). 3.5K surplus - inspect mo mabuti for damage esp dun sa abot ng oil seals. if you more money, surplus na buo. isasalpak na lang. 12K to 17K (canvass ko ito sa banawe).

will inform you next week kung success yung repair work. i'm trusting the mechanic naman. mejo may alam naman yun sa "science" of automobiles :D

change mo muna seals ikabit then observe. It's cheaper than changing the whole assembly. para sa akin yun. try mong tawagan si ferdy 02-3603268. gumagawa siya ng PS.

gumagawa din ba siya ng leak sa steering gearbox (rack and pinion)?

Yup, rack and pinion and recirculating ball type.

visited the car yesterday and nakabit na ng mekaniko yung steering gearbox with the new o-ring and oil seal.

may tulo pa din dun sa passenger side of the steering rack. pero dun sa driver side na dating may leak, ayus na. baka ndi kaya nung oil seal nung repair kit. makinis pa yung steering rack ko eh so i am sure na ndi yun ang problem.

i am looking to replace the new oil seal at that end with one from caloocan oil seal corp (see other thread).

PS. from what i have observed, madali lang siyang palitan ng oil seals even the pump siguro. ang hassle lang is yung pagkalas from the car lalo kung susuot ka pa sa ilalalim ng kotse :D

kaya nga we have mehanic to do the hard stuff para may reserve tayo lakas for...

pre ngkproblema n din ako ng ganyan ung marks n npasin ko mkhang tama lang wear n tear ng shaft shinny or dull ang tngin ko hindi nman ata gas2 n ukit, for me buy ako 2 bearing nyan at un 3 or 4 oilseal sa caloocan wala pa sa half ng price ng repair kit nyan na npkamahal hehehe
Take note lang when buying oil seal same type dapat (hydraulic type) o kya bangitin muna na png pwerstering. pinoy kc pgndnig pwerstring mmhalan k kgad hehehe

update: got the car yesterday at sabi ng mekaniko wala na daw tulo. will observe for a fwe days kung wala na nga leak.

but the problem now is maganit naman yung steering. as in hard steering. ibalik ko sa kanya kasi baa napahigpit yung isang nut dun sa gearbox. i hope dun lang ang problema.

dati ganun din sa amin. minsan malakas minsan halos walang tagas. kaso biglang consistently malakas siya kaya pinaayos na namin.

ang problema naman ngayon ay very hard ang steering even after adjusting the rack guide. i am thinking about the PS pump (which has been service some 2 tears ago) or the valve body. haayyy....

paano ma check kung nagana pa yung PS pump?

if malambot steering mo before the steering rack was overhauled then dapat malambot parin sya after. if tumigas sya then look towards the work done on the rack as the culprit imo.
