February 18th, 2008 10:42 AM #33inspect mo muna yung rack and pinion mo before thinking of buying a surplus.
yung internals naman ng valve body bihira masira. yung rack (shaft) ang dapat in good condition meaning walang deep scratches or scores. and keep in mind na meron part ng shaft na meron talagang scratch marks due to contact with the rack guide. ok lang ito basta makinis pa din yung part ng shaft na in contact with the oil seal.

salamat.
kotse nga pala is ek hatch.

April 25th, 2008 11:34 PM #37Im having the same problem on a corolla 93. Zee recommends hard chroming to even out the rough but not so deep scratches on the shaft.
What do you think about hard chroming? Or should I save up for the surplus?

May 1st, 2008 01:47 AM #39Hi Speedy,
I ended up having it resurfaced and then had the repair kit installed. I hope this holds up.
Btw, what brand of power steering anti leak fluid would you recommend? Cyclos any good?

May 4th, 2008 05:20 PM #40don't use a stop leak product if you're already overhauled the rack. just use the correct psf for your car.
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
