July 1st, 2007 01:28 PM #1Car: Lancer '95 GLXi Automatic
RPM readings:
Park: ~1000 rpm
Neutral: ~900 rpm
Drive: ~500-600 rpm
While I was parking my car I noticed that when I turn the steering wheel my RPM goes up. That's without stepping on the accelerator. Is this normal? Lately, I've been having rpm problems. I've changed the servo kit because my RPM would dip to ~200-300 rpm when I'd turn on the air con. Everything is fine now except when I shift to drive, which I think is too low! I was wondering if the power steering would have any effects on my RPM...TIA! ChEers!

If your rpm is erratic any load including A/C, P/S, Alternator will affect it. Try to fix first your servo and observe your P/S if it still affect your idling.
