    Hi All!

a new chapter on my ride's lingering brake problem...

i was going through the usual traffic along metropolitan ave., when suddenly i felt the brakes didn't feel right; halos dumikit na sa sahig ung brake pedal before my ride stopped. Parang me naririnig akong ugong whenever i step down on the brakes real fast.

i turned off the aircon para marinig ko ng maayos...a few moments after, the brakes seem to return to its old behavior. After getting home and popping the hood, ok naman ung brake fluid level

this isn't the first time it's happened though; somehow i've managed to get home without any dents(or worse)...still, common sense dictates to not push my luck B).

comments? kung me kilala ring kayong shops that specialize in brakes, papost na rin. thx!

siguradong hangin yan o kaya tubig...ipa-bleed mo ang brakes mo..o kaya mas maganda palit ng brake fluid...

agree with Sirs Ungas and Bench, have them bled maybe that will solve the problem.

not just bleed siguro... pa-flushing mo na yung buong brake system. this is recommended din naman by case once super dumi na ng brake fluid mo.

bring a liter or a bit more of dot 3 fluid kasi you have to use it to flush all of the contaminants out

    Sir Speedy,

when they flush the fluid lines, padadaanan lang ba ng Dot 3 fluid or they also blow air sa brake lines, or something like that?

I just remembered, pag drum brakes ang likod, baka may tagas sa seals. Pag may tagas ito, mababasa ang pads that can also cause the brakes to work prematurely.

Palinisan mo na tuloy mga brake pads, and check those nifty rubbers inside.

    Thanks all for the replies...

Last october 03 kc pinapalit ko ung rubber seals sa rear drum brakes ko...it was earlier diagnosed na me tagas nga. Di na naman sya nagleak ever since...syempre pasabay na ung pagpalit ng brake fluid...pero parang di yata naiflush.

Dun pa lang e napansin na ni Alvin( chieffy's mekaniko) that the brakes on one side of the car didn't seem to be working...duda nya ung brake cylinder me diperensya, so medyo inadjust nya, and told me to monitor the brakes.

Since then, medyo umOK na sya, pero sinusumpong pa rin

Ano ba ung steps involved sa flushing? Kelangan ba ng special chemical solvent, or just plain old dot 3 brake fluid?

Di naman kaya ballooning ng brake lines?

could be ur brake lines or hoses. those hoses get brittle when they age..thus resulting to balooning which eventually leads to more brake problems.

btw since where talking about brakes..can you peeps recommend a shop that specializes in repair/troubleshooting of brake problems? excluding the casa of course.

Wala namang kailangan ilagay na solution or chemicals, basta 1 liter or more dipende sa sasakyan. Patrol ko kinulang 1 liter to flush out the old fluids.

Dami ko na nababasa recommended shop ni speedyfix.

flushing is just removing all of the old fluid by constant bleeding. kumbaga you are forcing all of the old fluid out of the master and the brake lines kaya it take a lot of fluid. normally, old brake fluid is black and new fluid is pink or some similar color. basically kelangan lang bleed ng bleed until the pink fluid comes out.

you can also tell naman kung sira na yung mga brake master kung mahina yung pressure or if it is leaking. pero this has to be checked by the mechanic personally.

you can also check the seals of the front calipers as well as the rear drums. any leaks or moisture that you can see is a bad sign. dapat tuyong tuyo lahat yun.

just an update...i had the rubber fittings inside my brake master replaced last weekend...all seems fine now...will keep you guys posted; i plan to do some long driving this week. Hopefully this will fix the problem...ang next step kc would be to replace the cylinder itself

merong bleeder valve ang bawat gulong. have an assistant to step on the brakes. then release, the valve, while the brake pedal was fully depressed. then higpit. check the brake fluid level, add if necessary. do this pattern:

Front Left then Rear Right then Rear Left then Front Right. or anything na simula muna sa malayo...

Nangyari din sakin yan last week. Kakatakot hehe. As in nasa sahig na yung pedal. After bleeding and some readjusting ayos na ulit. Thanks Migs.

lumulusot ang brakes
