during the late 80's dumaan din ako sa ganito, pinaputol ko yung springs ng lancer boxtype ko then yung kuya ko pinaputol din niya yung sa galant niya, ayun pag nalubak ako ng malakas or dumaan sa medyo inclined na daan bahagyang nawawala sa pwesto yung springs at tumagtag ng di hamak yung ride. Kaya't after nun up to now stock ride height na lang ako.
How coņo naman you pare. :DOriginally posted by GlennSter
that's the easiest and cheapest way (to damage your vehicle) to make your car look maporma......
Basta't maporma... that's one thing that decided this IMO, then just add na matigas talaga mga ulo ng iba (no offense meant). I had a friend who cut his springs before. I told hime beforehand all the problems pero tinuloy pa rin. Nasira aagad yung shocks niya so he bought lwoering springs finally... I told him to use gas shocks to help control the added a spring rates a bit but he still insisted on getting OEM fluids, and from the casa at that... Go figure.
Who'd you believe that there are folks who still cut their lowering springs? sabi-sabi ko nga wag nyo n lng kayang lagyan ng spring para sobrang dapa :D
this is exactly my point.Originally posted by caloyski5
tama..nagtitipid sila..pero in the long run, mas magastos pa.
have passed through that situation din..
hmmm... una talaga baka makatipid pero in a week time.. naglowering springsdin akohehe

Cutting stock springs to lower car.
Cost of cutting at sidewalk "talyer" 800 + 150/spring cutting charge.
Cost to replace blown shocks due to cut stock springs. ~1800x4 = 7200 + 800 labor =8000.
Add that to the 1400 you spent to cut your springs = 9600.
Add 750x4(cost of replacement springs)= 3000.
That would be 12600.
That doesn't include the gas & time you waste to get the parts you had to replace.
In perspective, a set of H&R sport springs used to cost 10500.
Help naman
Hey guys
Ano brand?
plus: an option to go back to stock again and sell your lowering springs or vice versa... walang sayang.Originally posted by Supierreman

It depends. Depends on what level of H&R you get... if you get the race springs, absolutely not. If you get "just" the sports springs, your original shocks should last a while. But if your shocks are already on their way out, or if you combine the lowering springs with heavy mags (like 17"), your shocks may not last very long.
It'll depend on use, too. If you drive over a lot of rough roads, that'll accelerate the wear on your shocks due to the lowering springs.
guys, tanong lang po. if i buy lowering springs, then i should get gas shocks instead of fluid? bakit po? thanks.
gearspeed,
Grail.
It is primarily for better handling and to avoid 'bottoming out' the suspension when you hit bumps.

pansin ko lang..most modern cars (even my 97 familia) gas shocks na..does this mean hindi na kelangan palitan?
Soobrang tagtag... as in tumatalbog ako habang umaandar.. hassle. Lowered yung car for a yr, and ang bumigay lang naman (fortunately) is the bump stops ng shocks.
