i would not recommend turning off the engine unless meron ka na mababanga.. most likely na gagawin mo eh i-hand brake mo kesa i-off

kung nasa high speed ka eh mahirap i-shift sa 1st or 2nd gear..kaya the best pa din engine brake .. pag nag-slow down na ng konth at nasa 1st or 2nd gear na.. pwede na handbrake..

fyi only, pag naka-off ang engine eh walang preno sasakyan.. usually eh meron lang reserve brake system mo.. mga 2 tapak(pump) lang siguro.. after that eh wala na..

turning off your engine will remove all vacuum assist from your brakes (should it still be slightly functioning) and it will make your steering wheel lock!!!

Someone in our subdivision already died because they did that, deretso sila to the wall.

With matics, just shift down to a lower gear as well and turn the o/d off also. Handbrake... but not suddenly.
