September 25th, 2009 02:36 AM #1I need your advice fellow tsikoteers:
I was driving last night sa SLEX. Akala ko nung una malubak lang yung daan kaya nagwiwiggle yung steering wheel, however, habang tumatagal mas lalong gumagrabe yung wiggle, so i thought na flat-an ako ng gulong. So I stopped and checked the wheels - ok naman lahat. Tapos pag shift ko ulit sa 1st gear, ayun na naman nanginig ulit yung steering wheel, anlakas habang papa-accelerate! so nag full-stop ako, then accelerated slowly hanggang makasecond gear ako, then bigla umayos na.
I had it checked checked the next day sa shell - ok naman daw yung gulong, walang sira sa ilalim at ok naman daw alignment, baka nalubak lang daw ako.
I convinced myself na baka nga guni-guni lang. Pero on the way home today, I tried again to recreate yung pag nginig ng steering wheel. from 90kph, I started to decelerate by not pressing on the gas (pero ndi ako nag b-break), then i put the gear to NEUTRAL. ayun, may tumutunog (not sure kung sa transmission - but definitely not sa engine). mag gas ulit ako, then decelerate ulit, put the gear again to neutral - ayun! palakas ng palakas yung tunog, until bigla nanginig na yung steering wheel.
mejo nagpanic ako so tinabi ko yung kotse - full stop. then proceeded driving ulit. ayun, maayos na sya.
WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN CAUSING MY STEERING WHEEL TO WIGGLE???

anong speed mo nararamdaman yung wiggle? from 90 kph downwards lang ba? what if you are accelerating? meron din ba?
- check your tires, baka na oblong o may bukol.
- check also your inflation.
- check mo din yung rims, baka na oblong dahil sa lubak.
- check mo din yung wheel balance. the lead could have fallen off.
pag wala dyan:
- alignment
- suspension issues na yan. most likely tie-rods or yung steering linkage.
