Kanina lang nagpa change na ako ng brake fluid at brake pads. Pansin ko lang after parang more or less same lang ang braking power. pero mas naging progressive di tulad ng dati medyo malalim pa before kakagat. Ride is Honda City 1.5L VTEC CVT. 3 years na siya. So due for a change na.

Bendix yung pinalit. Bendix Standard to be exact. Kelangan pa ba ito i break in? Mag iimprove ba ang kagat nito in the long run? Nag OEM nalang sana ako or ok na rin itong Bendix?

may cracks yung old pads sa gitna. Sa front pads all of them has this crack in the middle. Yung pads naman sa rear disc brakes walang cracks kaso mas manipis na siya kesa sa harapan. Ano kaya ang dahilan bakit may cracks yung sa harapan? normal ba ito?

    Thanks!

Brand new, mas manipis talaga ang centerline ng pads. Kapag upod na, that line really does appear (at least on pads I've changed out). Yep ok ang Bendix. Yan din gamit namin sa Benz. Wala kasing stock for my ride nung kailangan magpalit kaya tiyaga muna ko sa Rico brand (kahit Akebono walang stock).

yun rotor natin over time nagkakarun ng grooves kinda like a record (yun nauna sa CD) kaya need pang lumapat yun pads sa mga grooves na ito. don't worry in a few kms lalakas din brakes mo same as when the car is new.

The main cause of brake pads cracking is overheating. This is almost always due to the driving habits of the individual. Do you always drive with one foot on the brake? Or,, Did you leave the parking brake engaged one day without knowing? Another cause is usng the wrong type of pad. If the OEM standard is semi-metallic and you use ceramics instead, then they're bound to crack. Always use the recommended parts. Sometimes must have been a faulty set of pads.overheating would cause the pads to crack.but the brake calipers would have to be seized to cause this also if pads have been on the car for years specially too much city driving they sometimes crack as they become brittle.
