kung di bumabalik yung normal braking distance mo after mong bombahin, patingnan mo na rin just to be sure, baka may tagas na yung linya or warped disc...pwede ring ipit yung brake pad mo.

curious lang, may drum brakes ka ba sa ride mo? and kailan last cleaning/check up mo sa brakes? drum brakes are notorious for losing a lot of their effectiveness pag nabasa ang drums or pads!

kung disc lahat, tama naman sinabi ni ssaloon sa tingin ko. just one difference sa procedure ko...habang gumugolong ang ride mo, dahan-dahan lang....magaan lang muna pagtapak sa brake, just enough to make contact, then press down little by little...theory naman doon, para mag create ka na evenly heated surface na nakakatulong pag alis ng tubig through heat and evaporation. and this is only necessary pag nakadaan ka ng medyo malalim na tubig or you splashed through a serious puddle turo lang sa akin ng dad ko yon dude, it might work for you too

Minsan may film of water na nabubuo between the disc pads and disc rotor kaya parang walang preno.

Drive slowly while slightly depressing the brakes to dry them immediately.

one more thing to remember when it's raining mga dre is hydroplaning effect. it has nothing to do with your brakes but it will keep you going even if you stand on your brake pedal. kahit konting baha lang (like 1/2 inch of water on the road) pag mabilis takbo mo, when your car hits that water then the wheels are not on the road. para kang nakasakay sa water ski, hindi sayad ang gulong mo sa road surface because of hydroplaning effect. thus hindi agad kakapit brakes mo and also you can't steer the car.

ingat lang mga peeps, tagulan na naman.

slightly step on the brake pedal while vehicle is running to dry the brakes. what I do is while right foot is on gas (to keep vehicle moving) I step on the brake with left foot. after a short distance all should be back to normal. whenever I go thru floods and do this I notice the cars behind me over take and drive away fast, I pity them when they meet an emergency situation when they have to stop but won't be able to bec of the reduced effectiveness of their brakes.

same with fundy, left foot braking. nagtataka din nga ako kung bakit minsan inoovertake ako or binubusinahan pa ako ng mga iba. Check your brakes lagi pag daan mo sa baha.
Basta kumagat lang ng konti yung brakes, this should heat your brakes enough to dry it.

thanks for all ur opinions. they've been very helpful. i'm a bit more knowledgeable now when driving thru slightly flooded streets.

just to update u, i have my breaks checked. my suking mekaniko cleaned my rear drum brakes. but my disc brakes on front wheels are ok according to him.

Yebo raised a good point about the tires possibly hydroplaning. What's the condition of your tires, and type? You might want to check that too.

Another point, and someone should correct me if I'm wrong, pag dry weather, normally for every 10 mph (states kasi galing to), one car length ka behind the car in front of you. When its raining, dapat siguro at least 1.5 carlengths ka farther from the car in front. tama ba?

Baka kasi mag stuck up yung wheels ng oto.
