40,000 km PMS today for my 2012 Forester NA. Estimate is 29k. Half of the cost is the ATF.

Anyone know how much the 40k PMS is for manual Subbies such as the WRX?

What was the MI casa's reason for replacing ATF at 40K kms only?

Owner's manual clearly indicate ATF change at 105K kms or 84months/7 yrs. (page 11-5) - 4 speed models for Europe.

    4 speed models for general - every 100,000 kms or 48 months/ 4yrs.

The thing with Subarus is that it is hard to find parts outside the dealer. There are very few sellers of Subaru parts unlike the mainstream brands Honda, Mitsubishi, Toyota, etc. Even Mazda is easier to source parts outside dealer compared to Subaru.

Its cheaper if you bring your subaru to autoline and other tuning shops that are familiar with subarus, casa is too expensive, PMS upto 10k kms is ok, but after that, just can bring it somewhere else, ask for a qoute and compare.

On the average, around 8-10K ang PMS. I've known for a while now that the 40,000km will be in the 20-30K level so i prepared for it.

is this for the sh5 or the current model? the sh5 I had before, I paid around 35k for the 40k km checkup. yeah, MI normally charge those checkups at that rate. the reason I opted also to sell it after 4 years of owning. it's a good car, it's just not that affordable to maintain one.

Major PMS intervals for most SUVs would cost around that figure, if casa maintained. As stated here before, your problem with Subaru would be the availability of parts and costs , if the parts are sourced from Motor Image.

Just finished mine as well. More or less same quote. (although my actual mileage is way below 40,000km)

I didn't argue anymore as my car is still under warranty. After October this year, I'll look for other shops.

    Which old one?

Care to share with the forum your source for the 48K ATF change?

the same link above. click on which year your subi is. and look for the severe usage and atf interval is.

    im actually wrong.... hehehe

I opened the link and its say 15000 miles.

30000 miles or 48k should be good for an atf change though. especially for stop&go traffic. which is considered severe driving condition

The link does not indicate when to replace the ATF (i clicked on 2012 and 2013). It just says inspect.

I would follow what is indicated on the owner's manual, irregardless of what the website says. MI casa cannot expected to be a trusted source of advice since they also need to make a buck here and there.
