    ^nga naman,di nila tayo mapipilit.haha buti wala namang threat na ma void warranty and i hope wala nga implications on warranty pag lumagpas ng konti say + 4 para sakto 10.sayang din kasi rating ng synthetic oil na 7,000 to 10,000 km + pricey pa tas palit kagad after 6 months kahit 5,000 km pa lang takbo. on second thought na alala ko lang, kahit anong faithful ka sa pagsunod ng mga dues at maintenance pag loko talaga yung dealer (e.g. f*n toyota commonwealth) ay hahanapan or imbentohan ka ng fault para lang ma deny claims mo,sabay mag tatago yung warranty guy at papaharap na lang sayo ay mga ***y chikas na mahirap pagbuntungan ng galit.hayysss anyways thanks sa info sir, consideration din ito sa pagpili ng bibilhin. pangarap ko talaga magka subaru since makita ko 07 forester,mailap pa rin after 5 years and 3 purchases sana next purchase subaru na.

    yup MI isn't that strict even if you put aftermarket parts di nila basta basta void warranty mo. when i used to have a forester di din ako umaabot 10k every 6 months so ginagawa ko every 8 months ako nag papa service. di naman nila ako tinatakot na i-void ang warranty ko.

    Ok, good to know. thanks sa info sirs. actually new realization lang ito dahil na din sa mga posts and topics about HARI requiring pms every 3 months. i dont mind paying more for each pms but paying for the pms more frequently is just too much not to care about.

    Whew. If the CRV 40K PMS cost about 19K (per Starex Gold) and the Montero 4x2 gas cost 24K (per jodyola13), the 25-30K quote for Subaru is not too bad. Still higher than usual, but not markedly so.

    Is this really the norm for A/T cars? I think the highest PMS I ever had to pay for my 8 year old RAV4 SV(M/T) was 14,000 at the 40,000 km mark. Hahaha! That seems so low in comparison. I guess that means that I should brace myself for a fairly high bill for my 80,000 km PMS (and I'm around 3,000kms away).

    Just wondering if anyone else had this experience. Motor Image just did the 1,600 km service for my XV. They charged me for
    6 liters of Castrol Edge Pro at a cost of 669.64 pesos per liter. I was reading the manual and it mentioned the XV has an oil capacity of 5 liters. So, did Motor Image overcharge me?

    Same with the forester, 5.4 liters ata ginagamit na oil kaya they'll charge you for 6 liters. Per liter kasi talaga bilihan.

    May I post mine all at Motor Image.
    * 1.6k kms = P3,878 <- nothing broken
    * 10k kms = P6,285 <- refaced front rotors for free, wiggling when braking.
    * 20k kms = P8,843 <- need to replaced battery, but didn't.
    * 30k kms = P32,158 <- (PMS + Cabin Filter = P11,552) + (Ball Joint Assembly = P4,606) + (4 Nexen Tires. Blown my Yokohamas = P16,000)
    * 40k kms = P36,020 <- PMS + all the fluids (atf, engine oil, gear oil, coolant) + Front Brake Kit + V-Belt (ac and alternator belt) + labor at P4k
    * 50k kms = P53,089 <- PMS + front wiper +power steering control valve *P26,468 + Stabilizer bushings + Steering Rack repair kit * P2,094 + Mud Guard Assembly * P 3,230 + LABOR alone is P10k ++ na.

    My unit 2008 Subaru Impreza 2.0R M/T.
    Fuel P6k x 12 months x 5 years = P360k
    Maintainance, parts replaced as above, 5 years = P140k

    Just to make sense of the cost. Cost really grows at 40k kms. 30k kms is tires, seems like the 1st generation Impreza tires are crappy. They blow easily with the slightest pothole.
    Also, MI did replace the ball joints, because of all the potholes I've driven over.

    From what I hear, most other cars replace belts at 70k - 80k kms. When you replace belts at the casa, your end cost is also around P35k++, as with my 2004 Lancer at Citimotors at 70k kms.
    Subaru replace at 40k. Not sure why, advisor saw cracks at the belts, hence for replacement. If I did not replace belts at 40k, my cost would be around P20k. Same with my Lancer at 40k kms.
    I also hear brake pads in MI is expensive (P7k++ for 2 front wheels) , can we buy any generic brake pads as a replacement? Bendix etc?

    *50k kms, power steering control valve had a leak, did not see that, advisor said, since power steering control valve hoses are all metal in the 1st version, vibration will knock them/or wear the rubber seals loose, hence they replaced the unit with a new one, with rubber hoses. Me thinks, this should be a recall at their end for all early versions of Impreza, if possible, just replace the rubber seals.

    For the steering rack, advisor was telling me, we are lucky, since for other brands, if they broke the steering rack, They need to buy the whole set. No repair kits.

    Hi April_Ryan,

    How long did it take you to reach 1,600 km? Will MI force you to bring it in after a month? Or can I wait to hit the 1.6k mark?
