Ever heard of this SynGard Global CVT fluid?

My dad's friend, owner of ATCO parts in Las Piñas suggested SynGard Global CVT fluid. At the back label, it says that it is compatible with Subaru CVT.

Any first hand experience with this fluid? Thanks.

Maybe Coolmate Makati can help you. That's scary. Was it immediate? or were there tell-tale signs the compressor is failing?

Sometimes it just needs oil recharging ... Symptoms would be strange grinding sound ... Recharge your compressor oil every 2 years or so ... Depends on usage ...

Hi guys just an update on my aircon woes. There's a grinding sound coming from the compressor, shops near our place recommended replacement na. Asked around sa FB subaru group, they, like here recommend coolmate, I went there they checked, they fixed my compressor and replaced the evaporator and performed general cleaning of the system. So far its doing great. Total damage, P15,500. ok na rin kasysa replace compressor na aabot P30k.

Yes thats true, yung ingay is because naubusan ng freon..nauubusan ng freon kasi butas na evaporator. So dapat ang algaan daw is si evaporator or the line of AC.

from previous experience with my (non-subaru) aircon,
repair kits are available, but aircon folks prefer replacement, probably because it is easier and it generates more income for them, or maybe because they do not know better.

At 25,000 kms my 2014 FXT already needs new bushings. Isn’t that premature?

Anyways, In the US they just buy the whole control arm assembly and it comes out cheaper than buying the bushings individually and having them pressed. Has anyone looked into that if the same would apply here?

The service advisor also recommended replacing all 4 bushings. I’m assuming the 4th is the sway bar bushing. Should I just get the ripped ones changed.... or do them all now while the control arm is off.

Also where’s the best place to get this done? I usually go to GH MI.

    Also out of warranty.

i cant remember how many lower arms were replaced(1 or 2) but i think this guy spent 14k.

these bushing failures are common to your typical fwd front suspension setups - McPherson

As good as the handling of Subies but one of their key weakness is their suspension bushings which tend to fail before 40k KM. The good thing is that these bushings are the same across generations of their vehicles.

I had the front lower arm bushings of my 2016 FXT replaced at 30k KM. Each control arm (left and right) has 2 bushings, a small one and a big one. If you need to replace them, make sure to do both sides at the same time. I bought my replacement bushings at HMS Auto Saloon (Banawe) for a quarter of the cost from casa and had them installed (with machine pressing) at Velocity Underchassis in Mandaluyong (Aurora BLVD). Spent less than 4k for the parts and labor cost.

2 main bushings on the control arm plus the joint in the sway bar and bushing there—17k.

Next time I’ll be taking it somewhere else. Hopefully after more than 4 yrs but I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect it to last longer.

I guess they changed the stab link for your ride. You can also buy an OEM replacement at HMS Ato Saloon for that part at a lot less price.

It is an OEM replacement, who knows where it is made as long as it works fine. We are not even sure if replacement parts from manufacturers do come from the country of their headquarters. Everything is global nowadays and parts are manufactured across different regions of the world.

I can hear "ugong" sound when I'm traveling starting at 60 km/hr. When I accelerate at 80 -100 kph, lumalakas yung ugong. Pag city driving wala naman ugong. I was thinking baka wheel bearing? Can you help me with this problem? My unit is XV 2013 model.
