re the hatchaback, i can see the shape of the current one here, would probably look good in person. The only letdown is the tail lamps, mas ok pa din yung sa current

Australian Subaru spokesperson actually states that the new Imprezawill NOT be the base of future WRX/STI.
New Impreza out - but where's Japanese brand's performance hero?
The future of Subaru's cult-hero WRX performance car is under a cloud following the unveiling of the brand's new Impreza sedan and hatchback.
The next-generation small car was revealed at the New York motor show last week - but there was no all-new performance model previewed, bringing the future of the WRX into doubt.
Following a statement from Subaru Australia spokesman David Rowley, it seems WRX enthusiasts could well have reason to worry.
Rowley told Drive there is "no timeframe" for the next-generation WRX, and says the brand has no plans to offer a turbocharged performance version of the Impreza small car.
"When you see Impreza launched in Australia or in any other market in the world, it will purely be the naturally aspirated Impreza - there will be no turbocharged WRX or STI version of that car," Rowley says.
Rowley says the brand's decision to split the WRX nameplate from the Impreza range - which it did in September 2010 when the updated "widebody" WRX and automatic STI models were introduced - was a conscious one.
"WRX and STI continue as is for the foreseeable future, but they are now separate models from the Impreza range," says Rowley. "Basically, WRX and STI become, to all intents, part of a performance stable, leaving Impreza as the mainstream naturally-aspirated [non-turbocharged] small car.
"It was a conscious decision to separate [the current WRX and STI] from [the Impreza] range," he says. "It's not something that we've hidden away or anything, it was a conscious decision made quite some time ago to create that specific performance stable."
Asked whether the next-generation WRX could be the Japanese brand's joint-venture coupe model which is being developed with Toyota (often referred to as the "Toyobaru" coupe and previewed at the Geneva motor show in see-through concept form), Rowley was quick to flatten the idea.
"No, because that car doesn't have a turbocharged engine - it has a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine," he says.
As Drive reported last week, Subaru's version of the car will be unique to the concept models already shown by Toyota and its youth-oriented sub-brand Scion, with the brand's project general manager Akihide Takeuchi saying the car is likely to be unveiled in the northern spring of 2012.
"We're working on it, and it is progressing very well," Takeuchi told Drive at the New York motor show. "Subaru is thinking about the aura we want to give the car. We are still tuning the car."
Subaru Australia says the new rear-wheel-drive sports car is not confirmed for local launch as yet. David Rowley says there is no timeframe for a decision at this stage because introducing that model would mean a shift away from the brand's current all-wheel-drive-only mantra.
Nicely done subaru! A smaller Legacy which will be priced around P1.2M. Gotta start saving up![]()
ang bilis nila magbitiw or magsalita, pero babawiin din sometime -and i don't like it (killing the hopes of their lovers). an example would be just like before, when they won't be considering a sedan version of the STi. then sales didn't rose well, until they decided to revive the Sti sedan version. kinain nila salita nila...![]()
I kinda like the 5 door look better. Just seems like the tail lights are a bit small.
I prefer the current model hatchback. Sana magkapera na ako para mabili iyon bago mapalitan..![]()
a beefed-up suzuki sedan, imo. and usually the photos are far better looking than the actual unit.
Kelan ba palit nito??? Baka mag-discount na din ang impreza if ever? dadagdag sa panggulo sa utak ko pag may discount din. Focus TDCi now is priced lower.
siguro kailangan lang nito magandang rims and kaunting lowering gwapo na![]()
Saw a yellow, dressed up Cosworth hatch version in a Japanese mag of a 2012 WRX and it's pretty darn drool-worthy ...
Leaked brochure scans showing the 2012 JDM Subaru Impreza
Hatchback variant of the Impreza will be called "Impreza Sport" while the sedan version will be called "Impreza G4".
Two engine variants: FB16 (1.6L boxer engine, new) and FB20 (2.0L boxer engine found on the Forester)
as an 07 sti owner I was appalled on how the 08 hatch looks. pero nang naglabas sila ng sedan version na STI, nagandahan ako ulit. Currently I am selling my sti to get the new one pero with this news I will hold the purchase till the next generation comes out. ang bilis pala lumipas ng 5 years. time to change the model na pala
it's now officially out now guys sa subaru.com / usdmarket
kasabay ng uber drooling 2013 Subaru BRZ Concept STi. 1-2 punch sila for this year!
boom boom boom!!
kindly just check their site for the BRZ, i have to sleep na kasi kanina pa ko napapalaway kababasa at kakatingin...![]()
The BRZ is supposed to come only in RWD, but due to its probable usage as the base for the next-generation Subaru WRC car it wouldn't be so wrong to expect some versions to come with the AWD, especially considering that it's a traditional feature in the Subaru range
still ain't digging that side mirror design. but oh well. the bigger problem is subaru's apparent identity crisis with the BRZ and whatnot.I miss the old, ugly, not trying-to-be-mainstream subaru. unahan na sa mas weird na current gen Impreza before it goes.
