well, I haven't experienced SCV failure yet and I hope I'll never will.. But the thing is I always drive on highways and not so often on city roads...So I think the unintentional (but good) deterrent was the driving routes itself...because of the high revs that is always being done when I'm driving.....through this I think, it somehow helps on flushing the carbon out of the fuel system....
So my suggestion for city peeps...forget your fuel consumption from time to time and when you see some wide open road floor the gas pedal hehe...because IMO it will certainly help prevent SCV failure...
But then again...there is still our basic SOP's
like..
always make sure to refill at a reputable gas station,
When you see a tanker at a station ask the gasboy if its done loading fuel already...and if not...then probably what you still have in the station tank is "latak"...so proceed to the next station,
do the proper PMS so your SCV and EGR can be checked from time to time for the mechanic to see its current state...![]()
apparently, dirty diesel is the main culprit. but i asked the dealer if the replacement SCV bears the same part number as to the one originally installed in the engine. iba na daw and improved yung version...
should your strada die on you and won't restart, ready yourself for a bill of atleast 8 to 10k to replace the scv, fuel filter and cleaning of your fuel tank...![]()
5T PMS spent only 1400 pesos...Citimotors Alabang
nagtanong ang SA
SA: Sir, ilang km na po ito?
me: 5,000 km
SA: Top up lang sir
Me: yup, tsaka paki check yung rear shock...maingay eh...
SA: Anong sasakyan po ito sir?
ME: yung laging may ganyang reklamo na maingay ang leaf spring...
SA: ah Strada sir..
ME: yup.
SA: wala pala kaming lusot sa iyo sir alam mo na yung common problem ng Strada.
Me: syempre naman kasi lagi naming napag-uusapan sa aming club ang sakit ng Strada.
SA: Anong club Po yun Sir?
ME: eh di Strada Club of the Philippines.
SA: Patay wala ngang lusot...
ME: e yung isang problema ng Strada?
SA: alin po sir?
Me: yung SCV? wala ba kayong memo na pinalabas tungkol dun?
SA: Ay mayroon po sir
ME: ok...salamat...mmmwoah
ME: pwede ba ako magdala ng sariling langis pag mag change oil?
SA: pwede po sir at yung labor lng babayaran....
ME: salamat ...mwoah ulit
shakatak,
Just had my 45k PMS this am. Engine oil changed and only 7.7L of oil lang ginamit sa 4M41 engine.
During my 35k PMS, casa poured 8.35L pero lumampas ng konti sa recommended level.
So totoo nga na 8L lang ang kailangan for the 3.2L engine. Hmmm...
anu ba yan....joke time pala talaga mga casa! haaay....
will be having my 50k PMS soon...
magkano po inabot sainyo doc? I assume 50k kms procedure na yung ginawa sainyo kasi topup nalang kayo pagdating ng 50k?![]()
No, LR777, it's not a joke. It's a serious irregularity occuring in the casa. Either it's a ploy by casa management to mulct additional profit from the customers or a clandestine way of pilfering by the service employee. Either way it's anomalous and we, the customers are victims.Of course, their usual alibi is "madaming natapon" or "ginamit sa flushing yung iba", etc.
Buti na lang may forum tulad nito where we can compare notes and discover such anomalies.![]()
