Union Motor Paco. And yes, I got the 3.2 GLS Sports.

I read this thread, and so far it's supposed to be 9 liters and the the excess should be given back to the customer.

Unless I'm wrong. If not, they picked the wrong guy.

Let me know if it the turbocharger REALLY needs oil.

just my 2 cents wne it comes to having your vehicle serviced in the casa and getting parts replaced..... ALWAYS demand that the old parts be given back to you, wala na sila pakialam kung basag, putol, durog o ano yung piyesa, basta dapat ibigay nila sa inyo yung luma. The only time when you cannot ask for the old part is if the repair/replacement was done thru a claim with the insurance.

now with regards to the overbillings and stuff, please check the bill of statement before you pay ... you have aright to question and ask for clarification as to what, when, where, why and how everything was on the list. kasi i think pag binayaran mo na yun, it's understood as wala ka na issue with the statement.... attorney's please confirm this...thanks!!!

as for sir thepatriarch, no problem if you want to do the change oil sa shop ko, not a problem, bigyan na lang ninyo yung mekaniko para sa oras niya at meryenda yung tatay ko...heheheeheheh after all siya kasi yung boss ko eh!!! hehehehe

or we can do the change oil sa bahay ninyo...madali lang naman magpalit eh.

the reason why i do my servicing and change oil sa shop ko, is because i have the facilities, my people are pretty much at par with the knowledge that the basic service center crew has and i can check and do what i want to do and last but not the least may usapan na kasi kami ng diamond motors..... ayaw na nila makita ako sa mga casa nila para maghasik ng lagim at malulutong na mura sa mga tao nila dahil sa mga kalokohan, kababauyan, kawalang hiyaan at kagaguhan..

Total BS ito. Whatever oil that lubricates the turbo is already included in the pan capacity and the filter capacity.

Engine flush? Not really that necessary. I'd skip it and just buy some Jollibee.

hehehehe thanks guys, lax lang naman ako eh......

uy, as posted a few threads ago, bakit nila sasabihin na kailangan ng turbocharger lagyan ng langis? ano nanamang kalokohan yan? yung langis ng turbo is very minimal and it comes from the oil pan, the turbo has no oil reservoir

MAGHAHALO ANG BALAT SA TINALUPAN!!!

Before I signed the release papers, I raised that question. But it's late Saturday afternoon, around 4:30 and I NEED my truck. Worst scenario is if I leave it there over the weekend.

Second, they gave me a car wash. Fine. But the stepboards are full of greasy hands. Kinarwash pa! I believe they put the truck in a lift 'cause I asked them to check the uneven stance. Service guy said it has a difference of 1 cm. Bullcrap. I think it's like 10 cm or more. I'll measure it again.

I notice lang ha, whenever a driver seats on the driver side of the truck, it has a big dip. Is this normal? It's obvious since Stradas has oversize wheel wells hence the exaggerated dip? My old car doesn't exhibit it. Do you think it's the suspension being soft? My old car has stiff suspension BTW.

So it took them the whole day and NO return calls or updates if they can release the truck by afternoon. I have to update/call them pa.

Honestly, I'll talk to the service manager first this week. I'm a civil person but how do I tell him in a sincere, humane way?

Guide a fellow BOSBS. TIA.

Trucks do have a longer suspension travel so any changes in level are more obvious than they would in a sedan.

A long travel suspension is essential to maintain ground contact when off-road driving.

As for the uneven stance, my Pajero also had a bit of that but I didn't have it brand new so I couldn't really say if its normal.

yup, sakin free din labor during the 1000kms check-up.. binayaran ko lang is oil and oil filter.. no cleaning materials, rags, engine flush, etc..

since i do my own servicing, i might as well explain some of the things that i have done and not done...

1. i have not changed my fuel filter.... i know it states in their service manual that you have to change it every so often, but i have been driving diesel engines, and diesel engines are greatly involved in my line of work, and we only change fuel filters when we feel that the engine is starting to loose power, kumbaga, sabi ng mga mekaniko " boss, sakal na makina mo..)
2. i have not changed my air cleaner..... same reason as above, you can wash it, just don't put any form of detergent on the water, then you blow it dry with compressed air.... Please lang ha, wag naman ninyo ikabit yung air cleaner sa housing niya pag basa pa ito!!!!
3. i am sure majority of you already know this but..... i use motul synth for CRDi, i change oil every 10,000km and filter every 5,000km
4. i have changed my differential and transmission oils only once, and that was because i had to do a lot of 3-4ft river crossing for a week.
5. i am currently using outlast battery, hindi yung maintenance free...ayoko ng mga yun, mahilig magtraksil kasi ang mga maintenance free.

now for some of the questions that i often get asked, here are some of the answers.....

1. why not change fuel filter every so often..... i know we drive crdi, but our filters will work properly for a pretty long time provided the fuel we get is free from particulates and especially water. You'll know you have to change your filter when you feel that your engine has started to loose it's kick and galit. Nasasakal na kasi yung flow ng fuel from the tank to the filter to the pump. that;s why i choose where i get my fuel, stock fuel filter for the past 48,000km and still counting
2. why not change air cleaner filter element.....same reason as with the fuel filter, proper maintenance and cleaning of the element will prolong it's life, do take note that i drive in extremely dusty environments 4 days of the week. i clean my element every month at least. i plan to change it when K&N or Fram come out with their equivalent. but for the mean time hugas muna.... pero kung mabigat na yung element or butas na, time to change!!!!
3. why change diff oil and tranny oil only once..... that's the only time you really need to do it, if you're driving city most of the time or paved/hard/compacted roads 90% of the time you'll be fine...the viscosity of the tranny and gear oils are thick enough to handle the heat and wear. but there is a standard for when to change it, my mechanics and i usually do the drip test, since we know the proper viscosity of various oils, if we see that the oil is aleady too thick then we change.
4. what do i do if i cannot find synth oil when i do my change oil....considering that you are already using synth oil, you can use whatever oil you can get your hands on, just make sure that it's for diesel engines and use it with your old filter. just buy single grade mineral oil para cheaper(40w) and just let your old filter drip for an while. just remember that you are good for approx 1,000km only. but by then dapat nakabili /nakahanap ka ng tamang langis mo.
5. NEVER DO AN ENGINE FLUSH!!!!!!!!!! ....... doing a flush means that the entire engine will be cleaned from all oils by the flushing liquid, when that happens there will be no lubrication left on the gears, bearings, etc....and mind you the tolerances for these are verry minimal, forget the flushing, just let the engine drain pluig open and drip for an hour. after that close up and refill.

Hope i helped a bit with how i do my servicing.

Service agent gave me choice re synth and mineral. I picked the latter. I don't know if there was a memo and I'll bet the SA doesn't know it either.

I talked to their Customer Service rep and aired all my complaints. She was suprised why I put mineral instad of synth. Even the 10 liters and turbocharger crap. Now about the FREE 1k PMS checkup, it's an adjustment from the factory daw, hence the price. I said, it's supposed to be free bla-bla-bla.

She said they'll do something about it.

I'm filing a letter of complaint to the service manager also this week.

Heads will roll peeps and I'm not taking this lightly.

dapat ata gawa na tayo ng strada PMS center business arvs. hehehehe. oo nga pala, yung flushing kelangan lang naman pag-magswitch ng oils diba? I'm planning to switch to synth oil hehehe. mas matagal ba ang service period intervals pag naka synth oil?

AFAIK, MMPC as made clear cut guidelines of what is expected during the PMS and dealers are supposed to "follow the book".

with regret, implementation is MMPC's low point.

+1. Outlast din yung nasa Innova ko. Hindi yung maintenance free. 3yrs 6months na. Never pumalpak kahit once. Just check the battery fluid levels once in a while. Titingnan ko kung matatalo sya ng GoldStar...
