i will check if i have time to join Sir G01 to Motorplaza Marcos Highway. an update that i received was that Ramz2419 had his oil changed using Motul... im not too sure with his source but they allowed it and the excess was given to him. i forgot to take picture of the bottle holding the excess oil during the impromptu eb.

So to this I post the query, where does the 1.5 li of oil go? 9li of oil would usually be the capacity of a 4.0 li engine. Just an observation on my part.
i think i can relate with sir bobcas. 8 liters is enough to fill the recommended levels.. Outside casa kasi pwedeng ma check kung anong ginagawa during change oil and etc..

Ako, 1500 km to go til my 20k PMS. I'll check on this too. Thanks for the advice.

I brought my Strada to the service center this morning for the 20K PMS. I was hoping to see how many liters of oil the technicians will be putting into the engine.

When I got there, however, I was told that they will only do a top-off of the engine oil. I started using Turbo XP when I had my 10K PMS. The synthetic oil was then replaced with a fresh 9 liters of Turbo XP when I went back for the 15K PMS. This time however, they only topped it off with a liter of Turbo XP.

I asked the service advisor exactly how many liters of oil does the 3.2 engine need. He replied that it actually needs 8 ¼ liters of oil. The excess ¾ is to be given to the customer. I hadn’t received any excess oils during my previous PMS.

Cost of the 20K PMS almost reached P15,000 . The front brake pads had to be replaced because they were found to be thin already. Cost of the bake pads is P6,130.00.

Cost of my Strada's 20K PMS is very high compared to my Sorento’s 20K PMS which is worth less than P3,000 only.

We'll have to wait for your report on the actual oil usage, doc Boz.

Yung kay sir Brynlops is 2.5 yata. Mas mahal ang parts ng 3.2 as far as I know.

I don't know if this is a good brand.

They recommended that I changed brake pads din e plus top-up lang ng oil.

uhm... that would be 3 years or 100,000kms to go... and you have 2/3 to be within the warranty period...

*G01- im sorry i didn't text you today... my body clock is totally disorganized during my day off. haiz...

im very much surprised regarding the PMS- one factor i see this is suffice at 15k is because this is classified as HEAVY apart from the MEDIUM and LIGHT processes. Regarding the Tokico brand... they dont even have a website!

*Dadz, is this the brand they use as OEM in MMTh?

No problem there, sir Ian. There were a lot of vehicles at the service bay this morning. Good thing the technicians started working on my Strada a few minutes after I got there.

    I found Tokico's website: http://www.tokicousa.com/

dami din pala bad experiences with pms.. let me share mine.. i drive a 2.5 Strada GLX and i also had problems with the amount of oil used vs. the amount of oil billed.. this was at the Mitsu along libis/C-5, adjacent to Lanuza st. (not sure if it is DMC or UMC)

during my 1thou kms pms, i was billed with 9 liters of Turbo XP.. so when I got home I checked the specs of the 2.5 engine, and I was surprised to see that it only needs 8 liters of oil.. kaya pala pinapaalis ako dun sa service bay area (i wanted to see the process, kasi 1st PMS), hindi lang pala bawal.. may ginagawa din pala silang "milagro" dun.. so to my dismay, i told my self na "sa iba nalang ako punta for the Strada's maintenance check.."

after a week, somebody (i'm not sure if he's from that branch/dealer) texted me ng "sir, this is mr.xxx from mitsu.. kamusta po ang performance na inyong sasakyan?" (maybe this is an SOP for quality controllers..) of course I was happy to receive this text and I immediately replied "ok naman performance.. ilan liters ba ng oil kailangan for 2.5 GLX?" he replied.. "8 po" so it was confirmed.. I replied back with an aggressive tone (to get their ass moving).. "naloko yata ako.. 9 ang siningil sa akin pero hindi naman binigay yung sobra" after that, a few more exchanges of texts then the man apologized for this and told me that he will talk to manager of that particular branch, blah blah blah.. in short, he promised to have this fixed and personally monitor my complaint..

after a few hours, he called me up and told me that "sir, ok na.. napagsabihan na po yung tao namin dun.. pasensya na po uli, pano nyo po ba gusto makuha yung refund niyo? pwede pong check or credit nalang natin sa next maintenance check-up nyo.." since i have a busy sched din and hindi ko rin madaanan yung check, i decided na sa next check-up nalang (kahit bad trip na ako sa dealer/service center na yun)..

so during my 5thou kms check-up, libre na yung oil ko na pang top-off.. natuwa na din ako.. at least binalik nila.. pero sana hindi na nangyari to in the first place.. kaya nga tayo sa casa nagpapacheck kasi alam natin maayos/honest/quality yung gawa.. yun pala may lokohan din.. so be more vigilant lang fellow BOSBs.. dun sa mga meron similar experiences with mine, try nyo i-complain, hopefully ma-refund nyo rin..

    hope this helps..

in line with this, saan ba ok ang PMS? yung honest and quality work..

    maraming salamat!

Bro dito we are not much bother by the brand kasi okay naman ang mga ginagamit nila but sa oil sa casa ang gamit is castrol full syn plus the other i dont bother to ask kasi wala naman ako na kikita na problem and the price is fine hindi siya ganon kamahal.

Binalik or binigay ba nila sa iyo yung pinalitan nilang parts (old brakes)?

Other thing, check nyo rin yung receipt or job order nila...
Ive seen Php 1,000++ charged to me for DIESEL...
wala namang diesel na idinagdag during change oil
i don't bother that time kasi pauwi ako, i hope makita ko yung receipt ko.

Nakita ko rin yung dumi from the old fuel filter. Parang putik na meron halong konting tubig.

Sa service center dito sa Baguio puede lapitan at obserbahan yung mga vehicles during servicing kasi yung lounging area is nasa corner lang ng working space nila.

Just got my Strada, 1k PMS. Here are the breakdowns:

    Perform 1000 KMS check up – P407
    Cleaning materials – P150
    Oil filter – P1,643.24
    Engine Flush – 3 x 173 = P519
    Colored rags – 3 x 2.04 = P6.12
    Mitsubishi Oil (mineral) 10 x 173 = P1,730
    TOTAL : P4,048.46 minus P500 GC = P3,548.36

They checked my steering, AC cleaned and gave me a car wash ALL for FREE.

I asked them why 10 liters when the manual states it has 8.25 liters, agent told me the turbocharger needs oil too kaya 10 liters.

    Huh?!? Na rip-off ba ako?
