the ala boxing stable has ceased operations for quite some time now. the covid19 pestilence and the shuttering of their tv ally, abs-cbn sports, have hurt their revenue stream significantly.

I wondered about this, I thought they just put Ugas in, without any preparation. So if it was pacman who had a problem, Spence - Ugas sana?

what monty meant was that pacman was also a replacement fighter back in 2001, which he won and started him on his way to superstarhood.

    pacman and ugas.
both were actually suffering from the same predicament: both had their scheduled fights canceled, because both of their respective opponents suffered the same eye injury.

the original cards that fight day, had pacman vs spence, and ugas vs maidana, and two more sets of fighters.
spence and maidana both developed retinal detachment, and were declared unfit to fight.
thus having heard fate spake, the kingmakers brought pacman and ugas twogether instead.

Okay so we have few champion boxers left in the likes of Nietes, Donaire and Magsayo.

    Magsayo and Nietes aren't champs.

I browsed through the list. Here are the current Pinoy boxing champions. Regional and some lesses BS belts not included.

    Pedro Taduran - IBF Minimumweight
Jerwin Ancajas - IBF Jr. Bantam / Superflyweight
    Casimero - WBO Bamtamweight
    Donaire - WBC Bamtamweight

natalo pala si donaire. it looks like he's at the end of his rope. he's had a solid career so his loss tonight is a triumph in a roundabout sort of way.
