Ako taga La Salle, pero I really don’t like them bringing in “one & done” players. I don’t like foreign players & coaches in the league, period. Dapat talaga grassroots. Look at volleyball, the best teams in the league don’t even have foreign players & it’s popularity is sky high.

personally, i'm fine w/ foreign coaches and players. we need them to elevate our game. every country in the world is embracing athletes and coaches w/ different nationalities in an effort to enrich their play, why shouldn't we?

a good example would be the entry of coach tab baldwin and coach tai bundit. they both elevated the tactics and skills of our programs in basketball and volleyball respectively. the methods and knowledge they shared w/ us have greatly benefited our athletes and their performances. in the world of sports and i guess in everything else, it's certain that those who do not adapt to the times will be condemned forever to mediocrity.

as to the current high profile wave local volleyball is riding on, that's so nice to see. but once our volleyball teams venture into the international arena, we're chopped liver precisely because past pinoy volleyball officials were very insular. they made no effort to create a venue for foreign "technology transfer" to occur.

i'd be going out on a limb here but i dare say if it weren't for bundit bringing in the thai kind of mentality and training to our shores, vball wouldn't explode and it won't have the ballistic status it's currently enjoying.

as for imports and one and done players, i have no problems w/ them as long as no league rules are broken.

UP looked good even without Kobe Paras. Scary thought for many of the other teams.

Ateneo was rocksolid as usual in the stretch.

Bakit daw hindi naglaro si Paras? Injury? Nahiya kasi short shorts?

UP has the tools but the playmaking is just not up to par.

Also the shooting is very bad. Some open looks on the inside was missed.

The season is long so I hope they improve on that aspect.

Abando and nonoy Team abnoy. Heheh. And cansino didnt even played much.

UP were shook by the D of ust.
Overall, i didnt expect UP to be blown out.
    Future is bright for ust.
Wag lang maging king ng ibang school ang isa sa kanila. Heheheh. Never forget

La Salle was killed in the second period, but good thing they fought back towards the end before Ateneo held them off.

^ conversely, dlsu killed ateneo in the 2nd half.

the way the green archers almost erased that huge 22 point half time lead of the blue eagles serves as a warning to the rest of the league.

    IMO, that's already hype bro.

I'd say ADMU was in control of the whole game. They just relaxed knowing that they're way ahead....

    Trivia:

MANILA, Philippines – The Ateneo Blue Eagles denied rivals La Salle Green Archers a late comeback rally to finish with an 81-69 win in their first UAAP Season 82 men's basketball showdown at the Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, September 8.

BEIJING—Spain secured a fifth successive win in the FIBA World Cup with an impressive 81-69 defeat of Serbia

Fast paced mag laro ang dlsu. Run and gun. Dlsu slowed down on the 2nd quarter and Admu ate them alive.

Pag puro takbuhan, nawawala rhythym shooters ng admu. May cold stretch Admu nung 3rd quarter na wala pumasok kasi lahat na score ng dlsu puro fast break na cinontest ng Admu.

Dlsu showed pretty well weakness ng defending champs.

^let's see how coach tab will adjust when he and his wards go on up against ust on wed. Puro takbuhan din yon. Remember, They were defeated by the growling tigers in the d-league a few months back.

It would be interesting to watch how ateneo will match-up w/ uste considering they're currently riddled w/ niggling injuries leaving them a bit shorthanded.

I'm on the lookout for a bj andrade explosion. The kid can shoot and i feel he'll be going ballistic soon. Tsaka pretty ang mom nito [emoji3]
