    oh no my friend, you're misinformed... high intensity sprint sessions can maintain, even help muscle growth, marathon type kills it since your glycogen stores are depleted and it uses muscles as energy.

    Don't forget that fats are stored as a reserve energy source, until other energy sources are readily available, it will not be utilized that much.

    ah i see... thanks for the info, which reminds me patayan yung 25k run ng new balance yesterday haha my gf was near to tears for the last 5k so i had to push/tow her, para kaming zombie maglakad nung gabi parang mababali yung tuhod ku haha

    when I was new to the gym (about 3 years ago) and was very overweight, I was running at 10kph a day on the treadmill (speed 13, heartbeat 170+), 6 days a week. I only had 3-5 minutes of that, walking.

    my major motivating factor: my gf: dumadami mga guy friends nya sa gym while taking aerobic classes. and some of these guys are overweight also pero pa-cool effect. my gf is befriending them a lot of them to spite me coz hindi ako enthusiastic pag-marriage ang pinag-uusapan.

    in less than 2 months, I lost 45 pounds! naunahan ko pa yun mga hinayupak na mga guys na nag- mix aero boxing, weights, cycling etc ... mabuti na lang nagbago gf ko, kung hindi baka hindi ko pa siya naging asawa coz I hated her so much during those days.

    now, 3 years later, lumipat na ako ng gym and I can still see these guys on my friendster. overweight pa din, ang lalakas kasi kumain eh. after workout, iinvite sila as group with some girls and my gf and me (parang pilit lang) at kakain kami sa labas. even sa bora, ang lalakas kumain. isang liempo kulang pa sa kanila.

    kung gusto nyo ng motivation, the best ito! flirting gf! and wala pa ako mp3 player nya, protein supplements, mga south beach diet or salad.

    join 'em then beat 'em.

    BUT....

    If you provide ample time for your muscles to heal and eat enough high quality protein, your muscle loss will be in check..

    But if you're the type who has little muscle mass and just do cardio exclusively, you're not exactly lean, you're just thin.

    sobrang popular tong myth na to. kahit mga fitness trainers yan ang sinasabi.
    ako, the only thing different in my program when going from bulking to cutting are 3 things:
    cardio
    diet
    supersets(and/or negatives)

    correct me if im wrong nalang theveed hehehe

    it seems that our body is really like this (runs in the family)... small frame...

    You can try Serious Mass by Optimum Nutrition. However, it's all about the genetics. You mentioned ectomorph runs in your family, you are going to need a whole lot of calories from Optimum Nutrition.

    Workout layoffs doesnt work with ectomorphs. "oh yeah, kapag huminto ka ng two weeks, mag gain ka ng mass." NOT! Endomorphs and Mesomorphs gain weight when they stop working out but not ectos.

    Continously work-out but do the whole body workout starting with Squats (free weight) each time. ECTOS can never really get big, they can only make it look better.

    Now, yung mga pics ng ECTOS ng mga amerikano, ENDO/MESO type sila compared to Pinoy genetics.

    Day 1:
    Squat
    Bench Press
    90-degree b-bell rows
    Hypers

    Day 2:
    Squat (lightweight)

    ako before ito... whey muna then... celltech/cellmass + whey + nitrix/no2... ewan ko lang kung hindi ka pa lumaki nyan... same prob, ectomorph...

    ngayon im thin and im more happy... embrace your frame.. at least no prob sa ratio ng shoulders to waist dba? pa-cuts ka na lang magkakamass ka rin in the process...

    natatakot kase ako mag-supplements eh... kung pwede sana makuha sa work out lang mas OK.

    me too takot ako sa mga supplements, vitamins, prescription drugs. even C2 intake ni-regulate ko when I'm about to run. pero yun rush fitness water or ordinary mineral water ok lang basta dont drink more than 100ml before running.

    simple lang naman ang mga bodies natin. just imagine mga kargador sa pier, mga healthy yun. they work/carry a lot, and yet they eat less (coz yun lang kaya ng budget). pero look at the muscles, kahit sinong bodybuilder dito sa gold's gym mapapahiya sa katawan ng mga kargador. slim, fit pero sculpted bodies.

    kung minsan yung ibang body builders parang mutated ang itsura, may punggok, may mataba, may malaki chest pero maliit ang binti.

    there's a big difference sa muscle na lumaki dahil sa ginagawa mu (mga kargador) and sa muscle na lumaki dahil sa gusto mu (gym people), parang spoiled ka kasi sa gym... aircon, tv, may health counter pa, anyway sculpted muscles are useless if not incorporated with any skill, i tried hitting the gym a couple of years back kaso di rin aku nagtagal.. dont get me wrong, weightlifting is a very good cross training for specific muscle strenghtening but we also have to work out fast twitch muscles kasi babagal ka sa weights

    sakin naman yung motivation ko nong first time ako mag gym ay yung mga condescending people sa office dati na talagang nagpaparining na naggygym (ginawang status symbol ang fitness first amp!) tapos spewing forth yung mga typical workout myths to anyone who will listen.

    sobrang nainis ako kasi mga know-it-all na puro naman mali. pero syempre tahimik lang ako and let them waste their money and time, all the while todo cutting na ako in preparation for the company outing hehehe.
    nong andon na kami sa beach, ayon na, todo sleeveless shirts showing off their big flabby arms and saying na masakit daw magbuhat etc. ako pasimple lang, ordinaryong t-shirt lang, nong magswimming na kami at hinubad ko, tumahimik sila lahat. sabay hirit "uy.. nag gy-gym ka rin pala?" may pseudo-six pack pa ako non e hehehehe
