May 29th, 2007 08:38 AM #30122 trades in in a year kay adducul???
I also think na may pagka-one sided itong trade na ito with villanueva...
although nag-dip yung laro ni villanueva lately, am sure na it was due to
having to practice for 2 teams....parang burn-out ang nangyari sa kanya...
for adducul, although naging mvp sya sa ilang overseas competition and also
sa pbl, i think na naging flat-line na ung performance nya..alang improvement from the time he entered pba....ang tagal na nya sa pba pero di talaga sya makasabay sa mga big men....

Rico goes to SMB for Adducul
Tuesday, May 29, 2007
RATCHABURI, Thailand– Enrico Villanueva is reporting to the San Miguel camp, not Red Bull, upon his return to Manila today.
PBA commissioner Noli Eala told The STAR Red Bull and San Miguel have reached an agreement for Villanueva’s transfer to SMB in exchange for Romel Adducul.
After months of negotiation, the two teams were finally able to seal the deal as Villanueva was released from the “restricted trade list (RTL)” at Red Bull.
Mick Pennisi took over the RTL status from Villanueva.
The system has been put in place by the Commissioner’s Office to ensure parity in the league while avoiding deals that are deemed too one-sided by most.
The Commissioner’s Office itself named one player from each team for the RTL. Players in the pool can only be traded to one another.
There are certain instances, though, when a team can request for a change in the restricted list which Red Bull applied for in Villanueva’s case.
Apparently, the trade deal was sealed as Red Bull team manager Tony Chua arrived here yesterday and had a meeting with SMC top official Robert Non.
The two teams are now finalizing the transfer so that Villanueva and Adducul can play for their new teams starting Wednesday.
Villanueva is severing his ties with the team where he has played his first three seasons in the PBA. He’s parting ways with former Ateneo teammates Larry Fonacier, Paolo Bugia and Magnum Membrere but is to reunite with Wesley Gonzales and LA Tenorio at San Miguel.
Adducul, meanwhile, is returning to Red Bull, which was among his teams in the PBL.
Curiously, the Bulls went 3-0 (win-loss) while Villanueva was away with the RP team in two international jousts. – Nelson Beltran

He-he!
