malamang kasi di rin kasi sia nag laro sa Brunei cup

baka naman hinahanda lang sia sa PBA..mejo may idad na din si Rodney kay amdami na din injury

Bago bang players ng Gins itong sina Lanete, Dulay, Chia, and Oreta? Nakita ko sa PBA website sa bench scoring ng games nila against PF.

Or matagal nang players ng Gins ang mga ito, dakilang bangko lang sila at di natin napapansin noon.......

mga rookie and veteran free agents
sila na pwede mag laro sa mga PBA teams during pre season games ,
up to 18 players ang pwede ipasok ng bawat team
ang motibo niyan ay baka may lumabas pa
na player na mas maganda ang laro .
kaya kahit na draft na at wala contract na offer ang team ,delikado pa din
baka masilat pa ng mga nag try out na mga iyan

GIN KINGS WANT JOHNNY A.?

JOHNNY Abarrientos to Barangay Ginebra? Now that has the Gin Kings’ faithful buzzing.

The 1996 Most Valuable Player is looking for a new Philippine Basketball Association team to play for—and new Ginebra is willing to take him in as long as management can complete a deal with their San Miguel Corp. sister club, Coca-Cola. “Johnny’s smartness and experience could give us stability in the backcourt,” said Uichico, who invited the former Far Eastern King Tamaraw to come over and practice with Ginebra. “Though nothing’s final yet, we’re considering taking him in,” added Uichico, who had just moved over from San Miguel Beer.

Barangay Ginebra is keen on acquiring Abarrientos from the Coke Tigers to bolster a backcourt riddled by injuries and a menacing frontline in dire need of a reliable playmaker. But it would need to look for a third team to trade with since league rules prohibit SMC-owned teams from swapping players directly.

It would not be difficult for Uichico to add the 14-year veteran into the team’s lineup since starting point guard Jayjay Helterbrand and backup Egay Echavez are both on the injured list.

Helterbrand again hurt his right hip flexor muscle when the Kings played the Purefoods Giants in a recent preseason game. It was the same injury that sidelined the shifty Filipino American during the playoffs of the Philippine Cup last conference.

Uichico, however, is confident that both Helterbrand and Echavez, who bumped his knee into another player from the SK Knights during the Brunei Cup two weeks ago, could suit up in time for the opening of the PBA’s 32nd season on October 1.

“We’re also concerned about the condition and health of Abarrientos, that’s why we wanted to see him play,” said Uichico. “But if you ask me, I guess he’s a stable backup for Jayjay.”

Sources said Abarrientos, whose contract with Coca-Cola will expire at the end of the month, is also a target of the Santa Lucia Realtors and the Alaska Aces. The Realtors need a consistent playmaker after Alex Cabagnot abandoned them, while the Aces want to bring Abarrientos back into their fold to recognize the 10 championships they won with him.

“Who doesn’t want to learn from a Johnny Abarrientos? Our guards could learn a lot from him,” said Uichico.
