Manny Pacquiao Agrees to Take Less Money Than Mayweather to Make Fight Happen

Michael Marley over at Boxing Examiner is reporting that Manny Pacquiao, in an effort to solidify the richest money fight in history, has voiced his willingness to accept a smaller purse than Floyd Mayweather.

The article goes on to explain that Pacquiao recently gave an interview to Nick Giongco of the Manila Bulletin where he stated, "I will take less money than Mayweather gets because the important thing is making the fight happen."

Nak nang, cathweight issue na naman. SI PBF or (knockout ni) JMM na lang talaga magandan para kay Pacman. All the rest too risky na. Ito kasi at least may hinahabol pa siyang patutunayan!

But the PBF fight is definitely the priority IMO. Matuloy lang ito retire na agad win or lose!

Manny Pacquiao told Fightnews and Manila Bulletin on Wednesday that he has turned down Floyd Mayweather’s newest proposal, an offer that the Filipino ring hero found to be ridiculous. Pacquiao said Mayweather continues to insist on getting the lion’s share of the revenue but he immediately expressed his disapproval, putting negotiations in danger of collapsing completely. Mayweather had called on Pacquiao last week and urged him to fight him.

Pacquiao said it is just right that they equally share the revenue, something that did not augur well with Mayweather.

Reports have it that Mayweather is now willing to make it 60-40. Still, Pacquiao is not impressed and might very well explore other possibilities, including a rematch with Miguel Cotto on June 9. “I still believe that I am being reasonable in asking for 50/50,” said Pacquiao.
