here are some requirements and qualifications:

1. Knowledge of and preferably direct experience in the techniques of multislice CT image acquisition

2. Extensive knowledge of anatomy in general and cross-sectional anatomy in particular

3. Knowledge of basic computer applications and networking

4. Knowledge of common clinical normal and abnormal findings, normal anatomic variants.

5. Knowledge of imaging artifacts, their cause and appearance on imaging studies.

6. Direct hands-on experience with 3D volumetric software, including supervised case studies in the area of cardiovascular disease, orthopedics and neurosurgery

7. prior experience either as a radio logic technologist (allied health professional) in CT or a radiologist (MD or DO) is very helpful.


A 3D Laboratory should have the following resources:

1. Sufficient bandwidth for image transfer, whether by thin client streaming technology or direct image transfer;

2. Physician supervision for case review and to answer questions, provide clinical knowledge, etc.

3. Protocol manuals

4. Adequate on-site reference library

5. Written quality control policy

6. Written HIPPAA and patient privacy guidelines and appropriate security for protection of patient information.
